Red Hill Community Market - First Saturday of the Month
Would be great if you could update that the market is NOT OPEN first Saturday as stated in the title. We drove over an hour and the market was not open. We weren't the only ones as the parking attendant said I don't know where you are all getting the info from but the market is not open." Very disappointing when the information on Google Maps is not correct."

I found the range of products at the Red Hill Market by Craft Markets Australia impressive. You can find fresh fruits, vegetables, flowers, herbs, jams and preserves, as well as gourmet food stalls selling delicious treats. Plus there's a great selection of handmade jewellery, artworks and crafts perfect for gifts or decorating your home. The vendors are friendly and knowledgeable about their products, so it makes for a really enjoyable experience. It's also quite affordable - almost everything is reasonably priced so you can get great value for your money.I would definitely recommend this market to anyone looking for fresh produce or a unique shopping experience.

My favourite market for fresh fruit & vegetables, Gorgeous George's products, Giant Springs, pickles, jams, olives, bakery goods, hot donuts & oldworld style fresh lemonade, plus many more treasures to be found.I did not take photos at the Red Hill Market & have added a clip I took in Athens for interest.

Red Hill Community Market - First Saturday of the Month
A fantastic day out kids really enjoyed it parking was not too terrible there are a few options costing $5 general grass parking money goes to the church so didn't mind. Stalls were good, usual things you would expect to see at a market. Food options were dismal. Ended up having to drive to a restaurant is there only 5 options with cues up to an hour long

This is a must-visit community market. As first timers, we had no idea what to expect. Despite some reservations, we were delighted by the sheer size of the place, the extensive variety of stalls, and some delicious food and drink options to keep you going along the way.We ended up wandering, eating, purchasing and enjoying the time for a couple of hours! The place was packed and it had a lovely buzz. Some unique art works, interesting condiments, salts and spice stalls, and apparel to boot.I even enjoyed some Italian doughnuts as we exited the market. Rolled in cinnamon sugar and stuffed full of jam - they were a delightful finish to the morning.

Red Hill Community Market - First Saturday of the Month
As far as monthly markets go, this is one of the best. Heaps of stalls offering anything from doorstops to budgies to calamari. It gets packed during the peak season and arguably could be set out better. Parking is a mess, and traffic can be horrid around the site. On our last trip we parked on side of road 1.5km away and walked - Waze was saying the remaining time was 25 mins. Final point to note that there are no bargains here. Everything comes with premium pricing.

Red Hill Community Market - First Saturday of the Month
I first went to this Market back in 1997. It was such an busy market with a community atmosphere, laid back vibe, and a particularly interesting array of handmade products. At that time it seemed to be the only market of its kind down on the Mornington Peninsula and was only on once each month. Over the ensuing 10 or so years it continued to prosper - but gradually another couple of community markets started up on the alternate Saturdays each month. The existing Red Hill traders started trading also at those other markets which meant that their wares had to be made each week rather than just over the month and obviously needed a lot more - thus the variety and uniqueness of the items sold became less and less interesting...The Covid years also have served to lessen the attraction of patrons to such markets as people have found other far less interesting ways to spend their dollars - devoid of actual human interaction. Most of the original stallholders whom I got to know over the years have moved on - there was a hard-sell" feel to some of the traders who have now replaced them - which detracts from the original community feel which was at its core. I still enjoy the market but its attraction has certainly been dimmed significantly. I pray that over time it will again find its feet and niche to regain its community market magic."
