Alexandra Gardens

My uncle Gordon, who was like a second father to me (I was in charge of his care) spent the last 8 years of his life residing at Alexandra Gardens. I cannot speak highly enough of the place and the family who own and run it. It was the family owned and run experience that we were both hoping for when we initially set out to find him a new home. Gordon was extremely happy and, indeed, had some of the best times of his life in Alexandra Gardens. He was treated with the utmost care and attention during the inevitable sickness that comes at the end of a persons life. And he was surrounded by the carers that loved until the very end.

This place provided excellent care for my grandfather, they went above and beyond to make him feel comfortable and at home; my grandfather not being the easiest of people to please. Cannot recommend them highly enough!

The boss and her wife are quite friendly, the food really fits old people and their appetite ,the staff are also friendly.

I wish to send a loud shout out to Casey, nurse and owner of Alexander Gardens, her husband and team. As Casey and her husband have only owned this aged care facility since October 2021 and have taken caring to a new level in aged care. It's not a large care facility, it doesn't have share holders to answer too. It's also nice to be able to speak directly to the owner, not a manger. Mum felt safe and cared for at Alexander Gardens. The food was above average, which I was greatfull for. Mum became ill and an ambulance was called, Casey stayed with Mum untill the ambulance arrived, when she could have been home with her family. Two weeks later, I informed Casey that Mum had an undiagnosed terminal condition and will not be returning to Alexander Gardens. That Sunday, Casey and her husband visited Mum in hospital extending their care and love. This was their personal time, not forgetting they have a young family but they found time to extend their love and care. That's when I realised Mum was not a dollar sign to Casey but a much loved member of their extended family at Alexander Gardens, rare qualities in this day and age. Under Casey l have no doubt overtime Alexander Gardens will become a formidable aged care facility.

Our family member has been a resident of Alexandra Gardens for almost 15 years. He calls it home and the people there are also his wider family. The management staff have been overwhelmingly compassionate, caring and understanding to our father's changing needs. All the staff know the residents personally and they are treated with dignity and respect in all aspects. We have been so thankful for their care over the many years.

This Age care is a great place, my Dad stayed there for about a month, he loved it. He said the food there is fantastic, the nurses are extremely kind and caring and he felt like home there. I would definitely recommend this place for anyone finding a age care.

Caring staff, well looked after facility. I am extremely happy with this aged care. My mom really enjoyed her stay and made many friends along the way.

Alexandra Gardens is a place you can call home with great care .

I've held off giving this review for a while now, i thought i'd let time pass and see how i felt but it was so unpleasant and at the time i was very fearful.My grandparents both came here months and months ago, as their full time carer (my mother) was admitted into hospital. This was such a stressful time, and they came to Alexandra Gardens as an emergency respite option.Upon their admission everything was fine, they were welcoming etc, however my grandpa is more high care and they are a low care facility with very little staff on, so it didn't seem appropriate for him, he really needed a high care facility. As my mother was unwell for a long period of time, we had to look at finding another home for them that had high care and could offer more support.From this point onward, the general manager and nurse on during the day, treated me like absolute rubbish. The general manager had a go at me for moving them, saying they can stay there and was very rude and intimidating, when i tried explaining why they can't he would get worse. Being fearful that my grandparents would get mistreated i kept quiet.The General Manager made a point to ensure that the payment is made for their time spent there and just hours prior he had spoken with my mother on the phone about this, as she is their power of attorney. I also spoke with a nurse as i was on call until 8pm and couldn't get to them until late and was trying to figure out how to help them with something, she replied very abrupt that they don't have staff, can't help and too bad. Basically the customer service was pathetic and they only care about getting a dollar from you. I work in aged care and have for 10 years and have never heard staff speak in such a way to a family members. It was obvious we were just money bags to them and thats all they cared about. I am actually very surprised there are no other 1 star reviews.
