Coles Brighton

I love shopping at Coles local, Brighton. I particularly love the cheese set up at this store. So much variety! The staff are also so friendly - particularly Phil on registers. Always cracking a joke and being helpful. Thanks Phil, and thanks to all the friendly staff at coles! I’ll be back

No longer recycling soft plastics, this is due to more people doing the right thing so red cycle under too much pressure to operate. The big supermarkets need to do better to reduce their impact, this is not an acceptable excuse

We do our shopping here everyday and found Phil and the staff here very helpful when ever we needed anything. 5 stars Phil and the staff

The staff and manager here are racist. The manager won’t care about his customer. They need to learn how to be polite to customers rather than speaking without thinking. Not recommend! Very bad experience!

New remodel is nice but missing few key elements of supermarkets.

Think twice about shopping here unless you want to be abused. Today I did a quick shop and only the large trolleys were available. Unfortunately these don’t fit in the space that reads “park trolley here” at the self checkout - perhaps because there are bins underneath blocking the trolly park space and subsequent blocking the exit isle. While I was in the self checkout rude staff member Phil asked me move the trolley, I explained only the large trolleys were left, and the bin was blocking the trolly parking spot. He rudely moved my trolley and was sarcastic about me mentioning the bin issue. I could see he was an abusive type so didn’t engage further, he kept pacing behind me continuously abusive. I was shopping with my young daughter who was unnerved by Phil’s behaviour. Not what you expected shopping at Coles Brighton.

Definately a lot easier to do this place than the other Coles was, it was at it's best in 2013 when the storeman I got on with was there. Wasn't really the same once he left but the degree of difficulty was a lot less than the Coles on Bay & Male.

Well this is definitely not your average Coles. Very upmarket, however considering their location, they have to be, what the shoppers of Brighton would expect. I liked the new look and had a good wander around. I brought some delicious looking Laurent bakery multigrain dinner rolls. And lo and behold my nirvana, a hot jam donut display! OK not hot more just warm but really what a great offering! Have a great entertaining range on display perfect for all your nibble platters and what I'd not seen in other supermarkets a pick n mix macaron display case. Not my local Coles but would go back.

I love this store and the new layout, however my review is about one particular staff member called Phil. The first time he was rude to me I let it go but now that it's happened again, Coles need to know. Being a store manager myself, I understand that Customer Service is of the utmost importance. The first time I encountered Phil he insinuated that I had changed pricing on an item. Hate to tell you, Phil but there are cameras everywhere meaning that it's both rude on your behalf and a tad silly. when My next encounter was to enquire as to the value of a Coles gift card I was given. Phil told me that it wasn't possible and that I would have to buy something first or perhaps ask the person who gave it to me; very odd. Another, lovely, staff member came over to help, thankfully and agreed that he was a very rude man. Next time you're in Coles-Middle Brighton, give Phil a wide berth as there are so many other lovely staff members there.
