Alteration Bar

I take all my jeans here as they can be shortened on the day, even ones I didn't buy in DFO (like motorcycle jeans). The ladies are very patient, do good work, are amazing quick and very cheap. One caveat though they do not accept ETFPOS so take cash......plus there is only one working ATM in the entire DFO and it's at the entrance, as far away as you can get from the place.Highly recommended!

After having the legs on some expensive jeans taken up too short at a different alterations place I decided to give the Alteration Bar at DFO a try. I'm glad I did. Their alterations are perfect. I have been taking my clothes needing alterations there periodically for the past 4 years and their work is always spot on. They are friendly and provide a great service. They even offered me a discount on alterations when I recently took a few pairs of jeans there. At a normal price of $12 they offered $11 each but I declined as they deserve the money. Do yourself a favour and head over to the Alteration Bar at DFO if you want quality alterations with a smile. 5 starsUpdate - Feb 6, 2020 - Went to the Alteration Bar again today. They have moved further down at the end near the foodcourt. Same lovely friendly lady, same fantastic service with a smile, always reasonable pricing and quality work. Another 5 stars

Was going here for 8 months always seen the same lady, went in a few weeks ago and got 2 pairs of pants hems taken down and 1 pair of pants hem taken up.The pants I had taken up I already had the exact same pair in a different colour altered by them and I asked for the exact same length as they were the exact same style. (I bought the pants in so she could measure them both together) She did it however when I went to wear them on weekend they were about 2 inches longer than the pair that I told them to make the same.I had to wear extra high heels to get away with it however when wearing them the hem ripped and came down. Today I went back in to get them fixed and she very rudely yelled at me and told me it was my fault that the hem came down and wanted me to pay a fee to get them fixedI tried to explain that if they were the same length as the first pair she did and I gave her to measure then they never would have come down and ripped and she screamed at me in-front of everyone and said it’s my fault because they had been worn. After trying to explain she told me to never come back to her again because I didn’t want to pay a fee for a mistake they made in the first placeReally nice at the beginning but definitely disgusting service when asking for something to be fixed. Can not believe this happened.On another note have witnessed them changing the prices and making them up as they go. They also “only” take cash but do have bank transfer available after they’ve made you walk the whole centre trying to get it. Definitely a dodge place would not recommend.

Worst customer service ever! The old lady was so rude to me! She fixed the straps of my two dresses with $20 but they still didn’t sit on my shoulders so I brought them back for her to adjust again. She blamed on the material and position of the straps won’t stay on my shoulders and recommended me to relocate them and she will charge me extra $15 but I insisted to keep them as original as possible coz I don’t want to ruin the style, just asked her to shorten the straps.When I collected my dresses, she literally threw them to my face, no folding, no bag. I asked her if I could try them again make sure the straps fit ‘cause I didn’t want to bring them back again and again. But she didn’t let me do it and yelled at me like the second time she fixed them free so she already did me a favor, she charged me only $10 (actually it’s $20) and it’s not worth fixing again and again.I couldn’t believe she could be that rude and blame on me like it’s all my fault. The whole point I brought the dresses to her to fit them ‘cause the straps didn’t fit. If she couldn’t make it, of course that’s her responsibility to make it right! Never ever come back here again! Waste of time and money!
