The Piccaninny (Bainggug)
Easy uphill walk when it's not too hot and the path is not too muddy. Walking through after a rainy day was pleasant and you could smell eucalyptus along the way. A breathtaking and panoramic view with many photo moments.

Great place.. a bit rough on the hike but worth the climb. Definitely recommend. Just don't wear thongs.

1km hike up, 1 km hike down - approx a 1 hour return trip. Great short and sharp hike to see some amazing views, and often away from all the tourists.

Drive up a short dirt road to reach the parking area, which has sufficient space and a single picnic table (not suited for caravans).Fairly easy and pretty walk to the top - about 2,5 kms return (straight up and back). Great views of Mt Abrubt along the way and from the top as well as surrounding farm lands. If you walk a little further around, you can also see Mt Sturgeon from the top, but be careful as there isn't a clear path.

You can get to The Piccaninny from 2 entrances and the distance is similar from either point. Short easy walk if you go to the lookout and return or you can extend it by going to the other entrance before returning.

Fun hike and suitable for younger kids. It was raining a little when we went up but it was fine nonetheless. It's not too much walking. If you master this you may as well then climb Mt Sturgeon.Hope its traditional name (Bainggug) catches on as Piccaninny" was always a bit of a horrendous name"

A great hike for those short on time or who don't want a massive climb. Great sunset views of Mt Sturgeon. Would be a great sunrise hike too for the views of Mt Abrupt.
