Swampfox Winery

We happened upon Swampfox on our drive to Melbourne and couldn’t have been happier with our decision to visit this winery. We were welcomed by the owners with such warmth and hospitality. Not only did they offer us a wine tasting but they also served us an incredible spread of dips, cheeses and homemade Italian food - free of charge! We were all so impressed with their hospitality and especially their selection of wines that we made sure to leave with several bottles each! Couldn’t recommend this winery enough. It was such a treat to get to know the owners and have a tour of their winery. You won’t be disappointed with your visit. We will be sure to visit again!

You can't miss at this cellar door. Wide range of excellent wines (think balance, fruit-driven) at a very reasonable price. Great to speak to Bob, the wine-maker, and learn about his approach. We left with a half-dozen and promise to return. Our only regret was that we'd eaten already, so couldn't try Shirley's antipasto platter.

We stopped at the winery inadvertently on our way home from Phillip Island. As soon as we arrived Bob walked out and welcomed us with a big smile and friendliness. His passion for and knowledge of wines is infectious. As we began to settle in to tastings and chatting with Bob, his wife Shirley appeared and served us an antipasto platter which was such a lovely surprise. The whole experience feels like you are catching up with long lost family who have an amazing wine cellar they are generously sharing and waxing lyrical about. It was such an unexpected and joyous experience and my partner who doesn't drink wine left an official wino!

Bob and Shirley have set up such a beautiful and homely tasting room on their wonderful estate. We sampled delicious and very reasonably priced wines looking out to the vines and walked out with a case. Our only regret is we'd recently eaten so we couldn't fit in Shirley's Antipasto platter. Oh well, next time!

Hospitality plus and the wines are surprisingly good and pitched at very reasonable boutique prices. We bought up reds [Pinot & Shiraz], but the Vermentino was bracingly fresh and memorable. Well worth the trip!

What an unassuming treasure in the Gippsland region! Our group was treated to such generous hospitality by Roberto and his wife, from the minute we arrived. Not only is his range of wines delicious and well-balanced, but Roberto is incredibly knowledgeable in the art of wine-making. He regaled us with stories of his upbringing, his life that lead to discovering his passion for wine and his travels around Italy (and the world), all while offering us (very liberal) tastings of all his varieties. Rochelina then surprised us with an antipasto platter and freshly home-made Italian treats, which was just the cherry on top of a wonderful outing!We left with happy bellies and 2 dozen bottles between four of us because we wanted to take all of them home!Did I mention how affordable his wine is? I’ll be telling everyone I know about this gem! Looking forward to visiting again soon!Thank you both for a lovely afternoon :)

Really worth a visit. Lovely hosts, extremely generous (with the pours, the complimentary snacks and the sharing of knowledge) and delicious wine. Highly recommended.
