SAFE Perth - Saving Perth Animals from Euthanasia
Great organisation of volunteers who do their best with what they have. I have read some of the previous unpleasant reviews and wonder if the authors have actually took a minute to think about what affect their words can have, who do they think foot the bill for all the vet work, food, maintenance etc that the animals need?! emergency vet bills can be thousands and thousands!! so saying they are all about profit is actually laughable.Every person i have had the pleasure of talking to throughout SAFE Perth are in it because of their passion for animals and have helped thousands of animals in WA find their families and have a second chance at life.Couldn't recommend them enough.

I’ve been donating to SAFE Perth monthly through work for 2 years, majorly because I believe in adopting instead of buying, and I don’t think dogs should be put down for behavioral issues - they just need the right owner. However, we’ve been trying to adopt with SAFE for a while now and it’s rare that they pick up the calls or answer my texts. Our previous attempts to adopt suitable dogs have either gone unanswered or refused of meet, because we have cats or because we work full time, despite I work from home 2-3 days a week.I don’t believe raising the standards of adopters will help solve homelessness issues, and I feel very discouraged after couple months of trying to adopt but not even get a reply. They certainly need a better channel of communication, if not a fundamental change of approach in finding adopters.

These guys are angels. Work tirelessly for free caring and raising money for the animals. All these negative reviews putting people off adopting from them, such a shame. If they put as much time into volunteering as they did complaining they would actually see the difference they make and how much they care for animals. Just because you phone up about a animal doesn’t mean you will get that animal. It’s not first come first serve. It’s best suited as that’s whats right for the animal. So if these VOLUNTEERS are not up to standard feel free to step in and do your part. They are swamped. I have adopted and volunteered with these guys and wouldn’t hesitate to rescue another animal through them. They are all about what’s best for the animals

terrible to deal with. tried dealing with suzanne for over 6 weeks where she wouldnt return phone calls and barely reply to messages. had a friend contact her only for her to petty excuses like the dog resource guards. we had discussed this issue in out initial conversation and ways to resolve it but she used it as an excuse as to not get back to me. when i spoke to her about it she came back with another excuse. when i came up with a solution to that she asked me to fill out online application in which i quickly did and then never heard back. tried calling more times and messaged but no reply. seems that they would rather keep animals in kennels than give them a chance to goto a loving home. the dog i was after has been in kennels for over a year and they rarely post about him so they cant be to concerned about him ever finding a forever home. moral of the story send your donations to a more worthy cause

Today I drove from Gosnells to Bullsbrook with the big dog. We went to the S.A.F.E Rescue head quarters because he needs help and I cant give him the help he needs any more. He needs to be surrendered now. Due to poor communication on their part and misunderstanding due to that poor communication on my part, when we got there I was told that they are full. That there is a waiting list of about 30 dogs to go there. Basically to go home. So we did. This is heartbreaking and could have easily been avoided if they had just told me they were full when they replied to my email. Like the other rescues have done.

We adopted Mocha in 2014 from this rescue and will be forever grateful to SAFE Perth for bringing him to us right when we needed him. Yes, he is microchipped to the rescue, which is then linked to us, but I know that if anything happened to my husband and I our boy would have a home to go to. Please be patient and mindful when trying to contact them that these people are volunteers with families and jobs and animals of their own.We recently lost our old girl and will wait until a suitable match comes up to adopt a new sibling for Mocha from SAFE Perth. Would absolutely not hesitate to recommend.

I have rung SAFE over 10 times with no answer. They do not reply to any of our text messages regarding adopting one of their k9s nor have they replied to any of our multiple emails. Not exactly sure how serious they are about their pets being adopted given that their communication is non existent. Pretty sad really as we really we were super excited to rescue him.

EDITED: to respond to their reply .(At bottom of page)Not a fan of this supposed rescue group.3 years ago they refused to return a friend's cat to her. (He escaped his Catrun ).As their name was on the microchip the Ranger rang them .It took her 8 months of extreme stress and sorrow and finally legal action to get him back to her .They keep the animals microchip details in their own name so that if they go to the pound or a vets they contact them as the 'registered owner/first contact ' listed ' on the microchip paper work.(CHECK YOUR PAPERWORK if you have bought an Animal from them..)They can then decide if they want to return the animal to the person they sold it to OR maybe rehome it to someone else ???They have allegedly done similiar again sadly with 2 dogs which they refused to consider returning to their Alleged owner who had been searching for them after they were alledgedly taken by another party .Highly Unethical in my personal opinion . This is of course ONLY my personal experience and opinion of them .I recommend that you steer clear of this group and do your own research and make up your own mind..There are lots of ethical and highly respected Rescue Groups in WA .Please support them .#Response to them saying that I have never had dealings with them ? MRO's against 2 of their board members would say that I have had dealings with them sadly ...As I said open your eyes and listen and form your own opinion ..
