Pencil Pine Falls
Viewable from both the rainforest walk and the Dove Canyon Track. Definitely recommend the views from the Canyon track lookout, much better viewing point. Only a 10 minute walk along a raised pathway with multiple stairs. Walk begins opposite the cradle mountain shop, and dont forget to take a moment and enjoy pencil pine cascades, viewable across the road on a bridge. See attached Photographs, taken within two days of each other, of Pencil pine falls.

Pencil Pine Falls
Absolutely beautiful area. A few stairs so need to have a certain level of fitness but only a short walk to see a beautiful waterfall

Thisvis one of the shorter walks you can do before you tackle some of the larger walks at Cradle Mountain. The diverse range of trees and plants that you will see is great with an awsome waterfall as you go along.

This walk begins at the old ranger station just across the road from the Lodge and is an easy 10 minute out and back trek to Pencil Pine Falls, and 30-40 minutes to Knyvet Falls.Pencil Pine are the more impressive falls, but the walk to Knyvet takes you through some lovely areas of rainforest and moss covered trees. It heads first to the top of Pencil Pine Falls, then winds down to the bottom, and along the river to Knyvet.Much of this is on boardwalks, though it does have about 100 steps so can’t be done by people with mobility issues. It is however an easy one for most people, and has some lovely views of waterfalls, rainforest, moss and trees.

Always a great mini walk behind the ranger station. Walk into station, and start walk from the backdoor. Takes 5 minutes to get to pencil pine falls. Absolutely gorgeous falls and great little introduction to cradle mountain nature.

Can be reached very short rain forest walk from Ranger's station at cradle mountain. (You can travel via bus with Park pass or pay there). Beautiful fall and can be seen from very close. I sure loved the walk and fall. There's also picnic shelter with BBQ area nearby if you want some time with picnic.
