They arrived on time and quickly started diagnosing the issue. They kept me updated every step of the way and clearly explained the issue and the next steps to resolve the issue.

It's not often that I envy my Norse ancestors - sure, conquering the English would have been fun but no running water...no thanks. But that would have been preferable to dealing with Howrah plumbing. They will make you feel like the sporting store owner that Tony and his team did over on the Sopranos. If you haven't dealt with them, congrats - you just dodged a bullet the size of one of their vans. Stop calling me Anna, it's over.

David arrived very quickly after my initial contact. He was extremely easy to deal with, explaining possible issues with the plumbing problem. He came up with an excellent solution to an awkward looking situation and fixed it efficiently. Thanks.

DISHONEST, OPPORTUNISTIC, BILLING GREED, LIERS.My property manager contacted Howrah plumbing to attend to an after hours issue at my rental property. The plumbers arrived and proceeded to attend to a blocked drain that was actually a Tas Water issue as it was on their boundary. The plumber did not liaise whatsoever with the property manager that evening to provide quote nor did he gain permission to proceed.The plumber advised the tenant that the blocked drain was not from my property, he unblocked the drain and left.The following business day, I received an invoice for $679.25.I began looking into the issue by discussing events with the tenant who advised the plumbers were onsite for appoximately 30 mins, yet I was charged for 2.75 hrs (1.0hr for assistant and 1.75 hrs for tradesman) at after hours rate. Labour rate overcharge $250.Property manager contacted Tas Water and was advised that they do not charge to unblock drains on their boundary but would not consider reimbursement as it was now too late to ascertain if the issue was in fact on their boundary or not due to Howrah's interference. Tas Water said once the plumbers realised it was a Tas Water issue, they should not have proceeded but advise tenant to call them so they could attend to the job, Howrah did not follow the correct procedure. Howrah said they tried to call Tas Water, however, Tas Water stated it is unlikely the plumbers called and if they did the call would go to a customer service officer or if lines were busy calls goes through to an automated call-back system on the mainland.In the end Howrah offered to reimburse $250 being the amount Tas Water would normally reimburse for a call out fee. I believe Howrah knows how this scam works, as they overcharged $250 labour then kindly offer to reimburse $250; I was supposed to be grateful and thrilled at their kindness. They are disgraceful.The cause of the blockage was due to building materials being flushed down the toilet from the adjoining property (shared pipes) costing me $429 ($679 less $250), neighbour did not offer any compensation.I spoke with several plumbing companies offering after hours service to understand their procedure and to my astonishment it appears Howrah has built themselves quite the reputation for doing this to others.

David K did a great job fixing our hot water cyclinder. He was punctual, efficient and knowledgeable and let me know what he was doing. All my dealings with Howrah Plumbing have been positive. The office staff are fantastic, you can book online, everyone is always on time and the work is great.

Prompt reply, and prompt service to fix toilet problem, that was during the Christmas/New Year period. Communication was great and Adam was fantastic with his knowledge and customer service. Would highly recommend.

I ask for service fee to quote install of my free standing bath. Howrah plumbing advised, ' pay same rates for us quoting as for us doing the jobs.' Scared to get onsite quote, as they charge like wounded bulls.

Hot water cylinder suddenly broke down. No hot water at all, so we needed urgent repair. RangKelly at Howrah plumbing and within a couple of hours Scott and Connor were on site and got the thermostat and element replaced quickly and efficiently . Very grateful for their help! Highly recommend! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Wish I checked the reviews first. Worst service I’ve seen in Tasmania. I was told a general service on air con would NOT go over an hour, he was soooo slow, walking back and forth to the car and 2 hours later I told him to leave. Just received an invoice for 2.25 hours.Be aware!!!! Shop around and don’t get ripped off.

We have used Howrah Plumbing several times recently, we find the service personnel are totally professional, their work ethic is beyond reproach. We also enjoy the fact they are always punctual, a very important factor, lacking with many business. We will continue using them and highly recommend their services too. The admin. staff are always friendly and helpful too.
