It was a privilege to be taught by Marie during my time at VU, studying Professional Writing and Editing. Her passion for writing and teaching sparked many lively conversations. Marie encouraged all of us to strive towards a higher level of writing as well as being adventurous in the choices we made. Marie’s style of teaching drew me in: for her attention to the techniques of writing and her motivational mode in conveying the art of writing. Her years of multi-faceted experience has been a source of inspiration to me, and I am grateful for the invaluable impact she has made on my writing habits and skills.

Marie Alafaci taught me a subject called Write Nonfiction Material in the second semester of studying Professional Writing and Editing at Victoria University Polytechnic. I felt she took her job seriously when I met her for the first time face-to-face on the Nicolson campus. She revised my assessment tasks carefully. I then had to spend a lot of time to address her comments before resubmitting my work. She pushed my limits to improve my writing. She is a legend.

When I needed some articles and recipes proofread so that my work was presented professionally, I called on Marie for help.She was efficient, professional and easy to work with.
