A lovely setting for breakfast, brunch or lunch within the beautiful National Library building. Both indoor and outdoor seating available. My crumbed chicken burger was just okay but the beef pie and pumpkin and quinoa salad were apparently very good as was the focaccia. Coffees were all pretty good too. Great central location to meet up with friends and usually plenty of ‘expensive’ parking.

The Bookplate is an excellent spot for grabbing a coffee and eating a meal. I had a short long black and it was perfect. They have a good selection of sandwiches, main meals, cakes, and slices. The cafe is surrounded by beautiful and colourful pane glass windows. It is just inside the National Library. It had plenty of room inside and out. It does take away and eat in. I have visited numerous times and have never been disappointed.

Great service, beautiful location and excellent food. Thank you for having delicious vegan options too. One of my favourite cafes in Canberra. The stained glass windows are divine ❤️

Great spot for a quick bite, even when they are busy. Staff are really accommodating. We came in after they closed the kitchen but they still did toasties for us. I like that they have a water station well stocked and that you can grab your own.The carrot cake was excellent. The cream cheese frosting on that cake is worth every penny, and the tea is loose leaf which is great.

Such a beautiful cafe right inside the library. Wonderful staff and selection of food to eat. Got the passion fruit cheesecake, which was the perfect amount of sweet and tangy. Also had a mocha and cappuccino, which tasted good. Definitely recommend this cafe!

I love the bookplate … it’s got a great warm cosy, stained glass window kind of feel.. perfect on a cold day in Canberra to do some library research and have lunch. The food is always good, there’s a blackboard with lots of choice and the service is good.

Lovely spot to have a decent brunch on the weekend. The scrambled (folded) eggs served on sourdough were delicious. Coffee was good too.

Comfortable Cafe in a very pleasant setting, serving a good range of items.Outdoor area is very pleasant on those magical Canberra days, and the glass walls protect very well against any winds.Menu changes regularly, and caters to a broad range of tastes. A decent range of alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks.Suggest booking ahead, particularly during the busier periods of the day.Quite quick service, even during busy lunch period. Table service for delivery of meals, but orders are placed at the counter.Staff are always friendly and helpful.

The best pumpkin salad Ive ever tasted thus far! The crew are trained in the highest standards of hospitality here and are an absolute customer delight! What could be better is the cleanliness of the outdoor seating areas given the fact that the bird poo issue maybe inevitable. Overall a fantastic place for lunch with wonderful views of Lake Burley Griffin!

We had a gathering with interstate visitors & were looking for a relax outdoor space that do not put a time limit. Bookplate surely delivered that! The 10 of us were blown away with great view and had huge umbrella. The food ordering and hospitality are smooth, great service and nice food. Some of us who stayed behind went inside for coffee and cake and again equally relax and enjoyable. We didn't feel pressured by time and everything just flawless. My 6 visitors were very impressed and we all have a perfect day. Thanks Bookplate!
