R on the Downs

Such an amazing place to stay! We stayed in the settlers cottage. Beautiful view, spa, deck with a fly-screen so you don't get attacked by flies or mozzies (how good), comfy bed, spacious kitchen and wonderful breakfast hamper! Liz and Doug also had so many generous surprises...that I won't tell you about so I don't spoil the surprise for you!!! They were such lovely people and its so nice to meet generous people these days! Would stay there again!

Tree house 3 night stay December 2021. Photos do not do this place justice and don't capture the hospitality of the owners. Well equiped large cottage with beautiful views over the valley and distant hills. Maybe a little rustic in places (it is all timber after all and in the bush) but this adds to the charm. Comfortable bed, clean and incredibly generous breakfast supplies.

We were looking for a quiet recharge not to far from Brisbane. This accommodation was a very high quality. Doug and Liz were very welcoming. The afternoon tea when we arrived was an unexpected treat. We stayed in the main house but will be trying out the houses next time, and there will be a next time. Great!!

We were very well looked after by Doug and Liz and enjoyed our stay immensely.

We stayed for 3 nights in the cottage and loved the view, decor and homely touches. On arrival Doug and Liz were very welcoming and gave great insight into the local area and things to do. We enjoyed exploring the the local area as well as spending time relaxing in the cottage like cooking with local produce while watching the sunset. We also enjoyed whipping up a hearty breakfast to have while enjoying sunrise from our own private verandah. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would come back in a heartbeat.

We had a restful and relaxing stay in the settlers cottage. Doug and Liz are wonderful hosts who provided thoughtful touches to our stay. It’s a great place to simply enjoy the birdsong and beautiful views. Watching the sunrise peeking through the mountains from bed in the morning was a highlight as well as the delicious breakfast supplied by Doug and Liz!

Wonderful place where I want to visit again. The tree house is amazing. Nice view, nice homemade food, nice people. Also thanks for the gift from the owners (•ө•)♡

A very enjoyable two night visit - we felt totally at home as though Doug and Liz were old friends! Peace and tranquility to share with the wildlife with great views over the valley. Comfortable bed and beautiful room; great breakfast too! Thank you both.

After a long, stressful morning trying to find a hotel near Warwick with a room to spare, my partner and I stumbled across R on the Downs. I'm thanking the universe for sending us in their direction, as they were the most hospitable, kind and genuine hosts we could have asked for. We stayed in the beautifully designed Egyptian spa room, and the early morning view of the mountains from our window was absolutely breathtaking. The atmosphere here is incredibly relaxing, and we were treated to a wonderful, delicious breakfast. I have never felt more comfortable, welcomed and cared for in a hotel before. I would recommend this place to anyone and everyone travelling through the Warwick area, and both my partner and I cannot wait to return for an even longer holiday in this little piece of paradise.We would like to thank you both for everything and wish you all the best. ❤️
