Lucas House and Garden

OUr Owner’s Corporation had recently approved an intensive day of work to manage the pruning and removal of overgrown areas. This was an all day job for two men. They worked well with attention to the designated job sheet. I am very happy with the results as it will make the regular gardening visits more efficient. Lucas have been visiting our property for almost 4 years now and we are happy with the service they provide.

We had our total backyard, including a full concrete pool renovation, pool fencing, masonry retaining walls, granite paving, drainage and decking and a partial garden replanting all primed by Lucas. They did everything except the pool bits, which they subcontracted. This was a pretty large contract and went very well. Thanks to Mark, Andrew and the team. Would be happy to recommend.

My biggest issue was the access, they had to come through the house, wheelbarrows, gardening waste, new soil, etc, I have found that Lucas landscaping were caring, understanding, collaborative and showed integrity. Via Lucas, I am happy to talk with prospective customers if required.

We spent more than one hundred thousand dollars with Lucas two years ago with extremely mixed results. Fencing contractor was excellent, the paving and concrete driveway also excellent as was the watering system. What wasn't excellent and very poor were the granitic sand recommended and put down in large areas. It never set hard as promised and remained a soggy mess so much so we had to take it out and replace with 14mm stones which work. The soil used was also poor and nothing grew until we cleaned it and added heaps of compost. Plants were selected not on the light/shade and were poor in variety although mainly due to the time of year. The front gate and fence are on a sloped part and the verticals are certainly not vertical. I will not unconditionally recommend Lucas apart from the paving and the fencing contractor they used. Get alternative quotes and look at samples of soils etc.
