Bargain Car Rentals Cairns Airport

7 days car hire. Shuttle bus to & from airport very fast and on time. Car they gave us was a little MG hatchback and it was rubbish. Servicing clearly not up to standard. Car had tyre pressure warning light permanently on for duration of the hire. Wiper blades totally worn out & useless in the wet weather. When we told office of the tyre light on dashboard they said yeah we know about it we're waiting to send it back to MG to look at it. Not good enough. That car should be quarantined from hire until fixed.

Lengthy wait to pickup rental. That however is the only negative with regard to the hire. The vehicle behaved well. The hire price was definitely value for money. The staff were always friendly and professional in their duties. Actually extended our hire with no problems at all.

Was planning to rent a car with these guys and was reading T&C’s. There’s always a catch. Unless you pay a LOT extra for their premium cover, things like hail damage aren’t covered- what does that even mean? Often times, hail damage is an instant write off. Does that mean the company would expect a renter to cover the value of a new car?Things like this show that a company is dodgy. Majority of car hire places have a big excess that you can pay to reduce, but at least their insurance covers things like hail and storm damage from the get-go. Not to mention the fact that these guys have a $500 holding deposit unless you pay to reduce it. I’ve never had to pay more than $200 holding.Not hiring from here, I have bad vibes already. Align your policies with the competition and I’ll consider it.

My partner and I had just been Married and flew into cairns for our honeymoon. This is an off airport service- which we were aware of. We arrived, collected our bags and called the number for the shuttle, we were instructed to go to the pick up point and the shuttle would be there to collect us in 20 minutes. When the shuttle finally arrived it was 40 minutes later than we were told it would be, it was raining, dark and there was absolutely no signage suggesting that we were actually in the correct place. The driver was a young woman who when I suggested that a sign would help- I was spoken to like a drunk at the pub and told that if I wasn’t quiet that she would not shuttle me at all. When my wife and I arrived at the office to pick up the car the rude man behind the counter proceeded to tell us that the insurance that we had purchased off their website was actually supplied by another company and to take the car it would cost a further $500. By now I was quite upset- and asked for a refund so that we could go elsewhere to hire a car to which I was told that the money we had paid was non refundable. My new wife and myself went outside to discuss our situation and the worker in the office locked the door behind us- leaving us at 8.30pm, in the rain, with no hire car on the very first night of our honeymoon.Nothing short of appalling- do not use this company.

From booking online to being picked up at the airport by shuttle bus. Easy peasy, I normally book with one of the well known car hire companies who are so expensive. I nervously booked this with the expectation that it could turn out messy. I am so glad the car hire has turned out to be financially the best move i have made for car hires saved half the normal car hire prices I normally pay.

Horrible experience from Dale at the cairns office. We were the first people waiting for 15 minutes for a shuttle to the airport, when he loaded up the bags of the other passengers first and then proceeded to close the doors of the bus. We explained that we were waiting first and he smerked and said “get on the roof if u like”. He then drove off with 3 Spare seats. I believe it should be a order system for the shuttle back to the airport as now even though we were waiting first we are running late for our flight home. Very unhappy with Dales customer service and won’t be returning due to his lack of empathy and professionalism.

Lovely French girl, very friendly and efficient. They didn't have the car that I thought I had booked and I didn't want the MG3 that I was offered instead. I was offered an upgrade at a reduced extra cost, which was satisfactory.

Do not leave anything behind in the vehicle. Sadly we did and contacted them straight away. After several phone calls and emails we have still not received our goods back! They admitted that the car has not been rented to anyone else and seem unable to give us any explanation as to whats happened to our item so we can only assume that the item has been stolen! We have had to inform the police.They are now completely ignoring our emails. It is disgusting that someone has obviously removed our property and they don’t give a dam! You would think that they would do their utmost to find out how the item has gone missing!

Ellie, the site manager, was extremely polite and informative. This is reflected by the way her staff are with customers. The pick up and drop off process was efficient and painless which is exactly what you want at the start and end of your holiday. We will definately be back the next time we're in Cairns.

Very fair and cheap prices. Terms and conditions are clear. Lady was very professional and recommend us many places to visit.Check out went perfectly fine.Easy pick up van from the airport. About 10 min drive. You’ll have to phone them when you get your luggage and they come to pick you up.I recommend it to rend your car. Obviously as always make photos and videos of your car at check in and check out.
