Waterworks Gully
While the gully is most often dry (so don't visit expecting a body of water to swim or fish) don't let that stop you visiting! There's so much more on offer. The reserve area is beautiful. There's hiking/trail running/mountain biking along the fire trail up the hill amougst the native flora, fauna (particularly kangaroos, wallabies, wombats, echidnas & countless noisy birds) and a meandering stream that is mostly dry, but really livens things up after lots of rain. There's some simple shaded picnic tables at the town end of the gully (but no loo), and the historic remainder of the old Redbank Dam wall can also be found. Check out this hidden gem, so close to town.
