After years of planning and designing our new homes, the time came to select a builder to bring our dream to life. This was one of the biggest decisions we had to make, and we met several high quality custom builders locally in Sydney before our meeting with Merit Homes.We realised the dedicated team at Merit Homes could provide the perfect balance of a custom-building experience. This incredible team of people lead by Darren and Antony fulfilled every item on our wish list, with all the patience, dedication and skill you would expect from a custom home builder. They are passionate about building high quality homes and the client is the centre of everything they do. Nothing was too much trouble, despite many contract variations due to unforeseen circumstances.Communication on the day-to-day build process was exceptional, my phone calls and emails were always answered immediately or shortly afterward. Site meetings with Antony were easily arranged when required to work through unexpected issues.I wish to thank the entire Merit team, and in particular Darren, Antony and Dominic. It was so great working with you all. Your unwavering determination to achieve our goal was outstanding, you truly went above and beyond for us at every step of the journey. We would recommend your building expertise to anyone who desires to have the best home in any street.

What a journey! From conceptualisation all the way to where I'm sitting now, everything was done with extreme detail, lots of patience, and most of all, hard work! We've managed to build our dream home and the team at Merit have made that into a reality. They've compromised endlessly on their part to give us what we want, and we cannot be happier with the result!

We recently completed a new home build with Merit Homes. A huge decision choosing a custom home builder. The finished product has turned out amazing. The quality and finishes of the house will rival any custom luxury home builder in NSW.Merit offered much more flexibility then most builders and were very competitive on price.We also found Merit to be fair & reasonable throughout the whole process.Huge thank you to Darren, Antony, Rino, Dom & the team of high quality trades.

Amazing attention to detail. No assumptions about our choices and they built the house as if they were going to live in it.Every single person we met on this build wanted to make a dream home for us.We really didn’t like project homes. Buying from a template meant a house with weird extra rooms, balconies on main roads and views pointing the wrong way.We had a couple of architects come round, who loved the block but gave us pricing ball parks that were 50% over our budget.We met with a boutique builder, who was great, but he couldn’t match the price of a project home builder.Resigned, we went to Kellyville home world in 2019 and started asking about customization. Our block was not flat, on a road with no stopping out the front and in Ryde, a notoriously awkward council. The builders we liked: politely declined.We wandered into the last one on the corner, Merit homes, who had built (Sorry Darren) a terrifying tribute to consumerism. And we said to Darren “we don’t want this!”.And he listened, and looked at our ideas, looked at our site. We gave him our budget and he said he’d have a think.Our design was very modest compared to his usual builds, but he was happy to work with us. We went through 5 revisions of the design. It took a year.Then we demolished our house, moved in with the mother in law, and…. Covid happened.The house took 16 months from start to finish. Longer than expected for sure, but well worth the wait. We had it inspected at the end and the chap struggled to find any defects. Darren was the business manager and Ant was the builder, they are brothers and they are both excellent at what they do.We had been warned at the start of this process by friends and family: “You’re building your dream home, they’re just turning up to work”. With Merit that was categorically untrue. Every single person on site took huge pride in what they were doing. They built as if they were going to move in. Towards the end, I got shouted at by the chap building the deck because I was onsite and hadn’t taken my shoes off!We’ve been in the house 2 years. Nothing has gone wrong. Nothing has broken or fallen off. All the advice given to use by Ant and his team was good advice. The advice we followed was a wise investment, the advice we ignored we ended up putting in at the end at our own cost.I would build with Merit again in an instant. Also, look at the contract you get with Merit, it’s almost the exact boilerplate from HIA, the other builders that we got as far as that with wanted all sorts of extra conditions and refused to negotiate.
