Rum Jungle Tavern

A good place for a nice cold beer and a hot plate of chips...!! I always loved this old place from the Club days, quiet and friendly, steeped in History........ Aboriginals have always been made welcome here, and i recommend it highly for any outsiders/tourists. The real genuine Locals all come here, forget about the other joint down the road......

I've been here the last 4 nights and I have no regrets. The chef definitely knows how to cook. Carbonara was excellent. Steak was perfectly cooked. Mash potatoes were okay. Veggies brilliant. Salt and pepper squid was nicely cooked. And tonight, the Barramundi is just succulent with flavor. The salad is fresh but has a strong coriander taste. The quality is definitely underpriced.

Very nice and accommodating people. Great drinks selection. Excellent portion sizes when it comes to food. Lots of veggie options, and a couple of things can even be made vegan (eg a salad w/out the feta, a falafel burger without the bun or aioli). Generally chilled and relaxing vibe. Beautiful surrounds.

I've been here many times over the last 8 years. They seem to go through staff like underwear, and don't train them very well so they take forever to process orders and don't know the menu that well. The long term staff are just as slow too. Food quality varies depending on who's cooking, because as with the other staff, they seem to change cooks often. Such is the nature of the hospitality industry in the Northern Territory, though, especially in rural areas like Batchelor. While I have never sent a meal back or been unable to finish my meal, they are just typical pub meals, and delays of up to an hour at lunch time should be expected if you don't order in advance. I am somewhat glad Batchelor has a decent pub at all and this place is still running. Just make sure you ring and order your meal in advance if you're on a tight schedule. They often have the air conditioning turned off too to save money when there isn't many patrons around, but they always oblige and turn it on if I ask. So if you're planning to visit with a group, make sure you ask them to turn on the aircon too!

The Pork Belly was amazing, best I've ever had, blew me away from the first bite. From the crackling, to the fatty layer, to the lean base, utterly mouth watering.

Meals were surprisingly delicious!! I had barramundi and my husband tried the steak, Both were superb. We were there on a Monday night so there weren't any other dining options in Batchelor but worth a visit for a drink and a great meal.

From the friendly staff to the fantastic food, good sizes and very tasty. Even the jokes behind the bar just added to the atmosphere. Nice clean quiet place to sit back and relax with an ice cold drink after a day out at Litchfield.

Good spot, cold beer, great food

Very expensive for what you get for your dollar on drinks or food considering the state capital is about an hours drive away. The pizzas especially are way too expensive for being an average pizza with minimal toppings. I think people only go there because there is alcohol. The place looks modern with a bit of a club twist though.

Great pub to stop for lunch on the way to Litchfield Park. The wraps were delicious and they even had options for a gluten-free vego. Nice outdoor area. Friendly staff and locals.
