Lake Sambell Playground

Beautiful setting to let the kids play. There is plenty of shade, barbeques, ducks, walking track, picnic tables. It would be very easy to spend an afternoon outside. There are very good paths for strollers. If only I had my fishing rod and/or swimming suit. The toilets are accessible and clean. The park also has sinks and water fountains.

Great place to take the family for a picnic and swim - we almost had to drag the kids home as they didn't want to leave!

Great place to visit or to eat a picnic lunch down by the lake with the ducks, water hens and wild life.Toilets available, tables to sit at and a bbq and a great play ground if you have little ones.

Very good little playground. Don't let your kids discover the blacksmith hammer if you're hungover.

Visited in the rain. Cooked on the outdoor bbq. The toilets are quite clean and have toilet paper and sinks.The only bad part was the duck. Or goose. He just wouldn’t leave us alone whilst we were cooking. He would slowly waddle up to us, thick headed and stare at us with his beady white eyes, checking out whatever we were cooking. When we’d shoo him away he’d look offended for a bit then circle around us to have another shot from a different angle. He was rather stupid and couldn’t get the hint. More of a dumb dinosaur than a gooseI came to this campground almost 6 years ago and the same goose was there then. I suppose no one has strangled him out of frustration - yet.

Nice place to have lunch, but there was a freaky looking goose there that I didn't like but it was friendly

Nice area for the kids to play and swim

Lake Sambell is tucked away only a short distance from the city centre. It's a lovely place to go for a walk, picnic or on warmer days take to the water. The Chinese garden is a quaint start to a leisurely walk along the lakes foreshore.

Excellent spot for a play and swim when it's warm.
