I decided to get our solar panels installed with GEM Energy as they're part owned by RACQ, and I was extremely happy with the results. While there might be slightly cheaper options out there, GEM was not much more expensive but the quality of the parts supplied and experience they have more than makes up for it - plus I know they'll still be around if any issues arise a few years down the track.Communication and support was top notch, and I had dedicated contacts that I could talk to throughout the process so they always were across everything straight away. Big thanks go to Kristian and Darby from GEM who put my mind at ease and made the whole process seamless.I'd absolutely recommend GEM Energy and their team to anyone looking for a top-grade solar installation.

Andrew, the GEM Energy sales consultant, was very open and honest with me about the pros and cons of the components he walked me through, along with the sizing and expected returns on my system. He was very responsive to my subsequent questions, which gave me confidence to press ahead. The installation manager Sophie then took over and kept me informed throughout, with the install scheduled for a few weeks later. The installers arrived on time, were very polite and respectful, and completed their work in good time. I received notification from Energex a day or two later with an appointment for the meter upgrade, which occurred as scheduled. The system has now been live for a couple of weeks, and I'm thrilled with the results! I couldn't have asked for a smoother process from start to finish.

We had an amazing experience with Gem Energy.I had done research on and off for a couple of years and finally bit the bullet to go ahead with GEM.I found good reviews and number crunched a good deal from what they put together for me.I initially dealt with Kristian who was very patient with me (I was a bit of a pushy customer!)He put together a very detailed plan for our home taking into consideration all the factors such as location, pre existing issues we had and always came back with a professional recommendation.From here I dealt with Sophie who was also a pleasure to deal with. Considering they are a large company I could talk any time on phone or email and pick up where we left off talking about the job and they always knew exactly what was going on.The electrician was Stuart here on the Gold Coast.He was fantastic and a pleasure to talk to and deal with. He did a really neat tidy job and put in extra touches above and beyond the basic install requirements. He was knowledgeable and had a great team with him.As a whole they definitely exceeded my expectations and it felt good having made the right decision to go with GEM as I know there are a lot of people doing solar these days. My neighbours were also commenting on how nice the new panels look.Hands down a great experience well done team GEM!

We just installed a 10kW system / 8kW inverter on our residential property near Brisbane. After getting prices from a few local companies, a friend recommended GEM Energy. They offered one of the best prices together with a better quality system (Sunpower mono/Sungrow). The whole process was handled professionally from start to finish. Thank you Kristian (sales), Sofia (project manager), and Shunk who did a great job with the electrical installation. No surprises, no dodgy workmanship, no bait and switch. Quality outfit. Highly recommended.

I decided to get a quote from Gem Energy based on a recommendation from a friend of mine, who had installed solar a few months prior. I got a quote within hours from my first call and, from there on, always had reasonably quick replies to my queries via email.Since I had a specific budget in mind and a good idea of what that could get me, I started comparing the price, install reviews and the quality of the pre-sales service, with the quotes I got from another 5 companies.Gem was running an EOFY special at the time, and included an extra 2y warranty on the Sungrow inverter. With all that combined, I decided to go with them and do not regret it until now. I had my 6.6kw system installed within 5 weeks of going into contract.Installers showed up on time on the day of the install, and took me through the install process with details. The install looks nice from outside/inside the roof.I can't comment on the performance of the system yet, as it's still not ON. I am waiting on Origin to replace my current meter with a solar compatible one.Thanks Andrew, Sophie, Shunk and the team for a great customer service!

They are all kind, friendly and professional when they are giving you the sales pitch and taking your money, $28,000 worth for a small solar and small battery….BUT! Completely unresponsive, uncontactable, unprofessional when you have an issue…. If you want any sort of after service for your product under warranty BE VERY WARY OF USING THIS COMPANY!! Been trying to get issues fixed since 3 months after install! 9 months later, still waiting!!!

The 1st of 7 solar companies to get back to us. Garrett our sales agent was extremely thorough and answered all our 1000 questions and confirmed them with their engineering team. We had asbestos in the ceiling and while other companies threw caution to the wind, GEM Energy was always looking out for our safety and longevity of our system. They were surprisingly the cheapest quote for high end panels and we ended up going with the Sunpower Maxeon 3 as they provided higher long term returns over all the other mid/high range panels and also helped placed them further away from the shade as less panels were required.Sophie kept us in constant communication after the sale was made to ensure the installation etc went smoothly. They have internal installers and third-party installers. We went with third-party as they would be available sooner. While they did a great job installing the system they forgot to clean up afterwards (which they are meant to as part of their standard install) still they came out the next day once we notified them of the issue.We ended up with a 6.3kW system (due to the amount of trees around the house) with a 5kW inverter and by our choice (as new evidence shows there might not be worth while) no optimisers. Surprisingly the shade around the house barely touches the panels so on sunny days the system produces already over 30kWh in early spring. The 5kW inverter is capping the system at 5.1kW (though perhaps not too much is lost) so if you don't need that much power you might be worth while having less panels say 5.6kW with no shade to get a similar result or alternatively look into a higher inverter if you need more power. We got more panels as it looked like our house would be effected by shade so we assumed we would generate less than we are currently. However our installer and final configuration ended up missing most of the shade. At least it's future proofed.Thank you GEM Energy!

Our installation of solar panels on our home was flawless and expedient.The communication with sales, project manager and installer was good.The process happened quickly despite being at the end of year silly season.We would recommend the team at Gem.

We were very happy with our GEM Energy Australia experience from start to finish. We were impressed with everyone we dealt with from Richard, initially and Sophie, the installation manager, to Jase and his install team.We felt that everyone was friendly but also very professional in getting the job done and our solar panels up with minimal interruption to our property and daily life. Our family were really impressed with the quality of the work but also the polite and efficient way everyone at GEM communicated with us.
