Jodie Harris - Singing Teacher & Acting Coach

Jodie is a warm, inviting and knowledgeable singing teacher. She’s helped me develop and strengthen my teaching voice for work as well as ignite confidence within myself to sing for leisure. I’ve undertaken both face to face and online lessons with Jodie and both are worthwhile. Jodie is professional, welcoming and personable and comes highly recommended.

My 11-year-old Holly has always had some interest in singing but has absolutely blossomed under the tutelage of Jodie Harris – and even practises in between her lessons without being prompted! Jodie has incorporated excellent fundamentals and training with a happy, supportive and fun approach to the sessions. Holly’s enthusiasm for performance and growing confidence are amazing to watch – and Jodie is responsible for this. I try not to hover around when Holly’s having a lesson, but it is such a pleasure to hear them working together! I cannot recommend Jodie highly enough – very experienced, skilled and always a pleasure to deal with.

The wonderful Jodie has taught my 11-year-old daughter for the past five years now. Jodie’s method of engaging her students in selecting songs means my daughter always looks forward to her lessons. Furthermore Jodie also puts great thought into suggesting songs she thinks will suit my daughters’ voice. .Jodie organises an annual concert to provide her students with a performance opportunity at the end of each year. This has always been a wonderful and supportive event that our family very much looks forward to. My daughters’ singing voice and performance confidence has improved immeasurably under Jodie’s tutelage. Jodie is a warm, kind and talented singing teacher and I would highly recommend her to anyone looking for an excellent singing coach.

Jodie is a wonderful singing teacher who has taught my daughter, Ingrid for the past 18 months. She approaches singing in a technical, yet fun way which keeps the kids engaged whilst also having a great time. Jodie ensures that her students are honoring the music as it is written with a great attention to detail. She guides her students with age appropriate music choices, teaching both contemporary and musical theatre genres. She has also helped Ingrid prepare for auditions, and has made an anxiety provoking experience much easier to navigate for a young artist.Ingrid has improved out of sight in the short time she has been with Jodie.Importantly, Jodie has seemlessly transitioned from face to face teaching to zoom lessons when Covid hit. We valued her teaching so highly that continued learning with her online after her move to the south coast.I highly recommend Jodie as a vocal coach for any young aspiring singer.

Jodie is an incredible musical artist, a tremendous teacher and a great mentor. Our daughters have been taught by Jodie for 4 years. They learn more than singing: they find their unique voice, and learn to self-express. Our eldest is now into opera singing, and your youngest loves performing big numbers. Singing is the favourite of many activities, and this is because of Jodie’s skill, warmth and commitment to her craft. We wholeheartedly recommend Jodie as a singing teacher. We feel lucky to have seen her perform in several stage productions as well.

Jodie has been my teacher for 3 years now and I couldn't have grown more as a singer and actor without her help. Jodie has massively helped me with my onstage performance skills and my belting with preparation for auditions, school performances, musicals, AMEB exams and currently on HSC music performances. I have become a confident musical theatre performer, with Jodie's help and am always inspired by her commitment and professionalism. I started singing lessons with Jodie in early 2020. I am retired from work and sing in a choir and a small singing group. I love singing but my voice is not strong, and I need help to strengthen my voice and improve my technique and presentation. We met for a couple of months face to face then moved to zoom lessons, due to Covid, and then continued when she moved to Culburra. From the start Jodie has assisted me in many ways, my breathing technique, my projection, my timing, my presentation. Jodie’s lessons always progress through some helpful warmup exercises to practising songs both of her and my choosing. Jodie personalises her lessons to my individual needs and style. As well as her warmth and professionalism, it is fun to learn with Jodie. I highly recommend her as a teacher for learning to sing for fun and pleasure, as well as those with more professional aspirations.

I came to Jodie’s singing studio to increase my skills in musical theatre and my overall singing technique, especially in preparation for my HSC music exams and I could not be more pleased! Her fun and exciting teaching methods, wealth of resources and industry knowledge and her warm and welcoming nature has made every singing lesson a joy to attend! Despite Covid-19 and having to do singing lessons online, I still look so forward to my weekly lesson. Her practical approach to singing technique has greatly improved my skills and gotten me the closest I’ve ever been to reaching all my singing and performing goals after not even six months of online lessons. I would absolutely recommend Jodie!

Jodie is a fantastic teacher. I had recently got into singing and performing at university but had no formal training. Jodie helped me in many ways and as a result, I wad able to participate in far more performances. Thank you Jodie!

My now 13 year old daughter has been taking singing lessons with Jodie for 5 years. When my daughter started lessons with her, she had a lot of trouble reaching high notes. Jodie has done an amazing job helping her with her voice quality. My daughter's earlier singing teachers did not help her as much with technique. Jodie has also been a great mentor for my daughter over the years. Jodie has introduced my daughter to many different styles of music and has encouraged her songwriting, working with her guitar teacher to develop help her write new songs. Lila has entered many school eisteddfods and Sydney eisteddfod competitions over the years and has done well. With COVID, Lila's lessons are now via online, but she still feels that she gets as much out of the lessons as if they were in person. I would highly recommend Jodie to anyone wishing to sing!
