Polite Paws Dog Training, Puppy Preschool, Manners Classes & Behaviour Modification

I took my puppy to Puppy Classes and when she was older to the Manners Classes by Polite Paws.Lisa is professional, super up-to-date with all the current research and training methods, and also a very nice person. She cares dearly for all dogs and that is evident in everything she does.She teaches things you might not think about when getting a puppy, like accustoming it to touch so when it gets groomed or goes to the vet it doesn't freak out, as well as all the usual things.She teaches you to teach your puppy/dog to be calm, to be well behaved and anything you ask she is happy to oblige.My friend got a 5 year old rescue dog and I sat in on the online classes with her. The online class is just as good, and probably better, as the dogs are easier to train because the dog isn't being distracted by the other dogs. Even more so when you have a dog that has anxiety/issues around other dogs.I highly recommend Polite Paws Dog Training.

I already had high expectations going into puppy class with Lisa and she just went above and beyond. I can't recommend her enough. If you want to enroll your puppy, look no further. She teaches modern methods of training that provide your puppy with the best chance at developing the correct behaviours, the classes are great fun and she explains everything very well. She cares so much for her students and will always be there for your questions and concerns. I will definitely be back to enroll in her other classes!Thanks Lisa!

Highly recommend!!! For anyone looking for a great dog trainer in the area, look no further, Lisa is the best. (We had a really bad experience with another trainer prior, but Lisa’s class helped us to get passed it.) She is very knowledgeable and obviously very passionate about dog training. You will learn everything you need during these classes and believe me the price is very very reasonable for the amount of knowledge she shares! Lisa is the only dog trainer we would recommend (she's the second trainer I've been too but there's no reason for us to try another!). I first went to Lisa's Life Skills class with my Samoyed more than 5 years ago and enrolled in her Puppy and Life Skills classes again this year with my Golden Retriever puppy. I trust her 100% with my dogs. She's very knowledgeable, experienced and always willing to help with any questions. My Samoyed was quite an anxious dog and she used to squeak and be quite restless when we took her to cafes. With patience, consistency and Lisa's advice, we can now take her to cafes and she will lie down calmly. She always explains the reasoning behind her training and encourages her students to share what they have learnt with their family and friends. This is great because it contributes to keeping people correctly informed about dog training and behaviour. She also has an online store - I've ordered quite a few things from there. A lot of the stuff she stocks is cheaper than elsewhere or hard to find in Australia.

Lisa enabled my whippet Mireille to be able to live in a lively household with lots of cats and visitors! -there is no doubt i would have been way out of my depth without the fantastic Polite Paws" puppy preschool lessons that have been so important in establishing a firm foundation of how to be a delightful dog- (most of the time lol)...I will be coming back for "life lessons" in the future! We are a family of 6 and recently brought home a vivacious little male American Staffy. I booked in to puppy school with Lisa for the whole family. I couldn’t have been happier with Lisa’s enthusiasm and true love and passion for all dogs. I loved her positive methods of teaching ‘us humans’ how to bring out the very best in our boy. I wanted my kids to be able to confidently and most importantly Positively teach our pup to have the very best manners.My vet was thoroughly impressed recently when we took him in for his 15week pup vaccinations, at his focus and ability to follow our commands and how he was able to sit beautifully throughout the process.I highly recommend Lisa’s puppy classes and definitely wouldn’t take my boy anywhere else for any future training. I have recently had to privilege to attend Lisa's class with my puppy Simba.She is truly a wonderful teacher with a wealth of knowledge. You can tell she has a true passion for what she does, even answering our enquiries after hours.Her methods work, and her understanding of dog behaviour is out of this world. I highly recommend her if you're looking to start your puppy off right.Finally, her prices are extremely competitive for the lessons you receive in class. It was a bittersweet end but I'm sure it is not the last we will be seeing Lisa. Keep doing what you're doing Lisa!!!

I was so nervous trying live online with my deaf doggo but the classes were perfect. Lisa takes the time to watch and coach each participant individually. Her knowledge is clearly the most up to date and science based. The best part was, being in my own home, my usually nervous dog was able to concentrate, we didn't have to go on a car ride, which she still is unsure about (Lisa had help for that too), and the lack of travel time was a real bonus for me. We have learned some great skills to practise moving forward. I'll be back for another term with my other dog for sure! Lisa, you're the best!!

Polite Paws was a such a treasure to find when I got my new pup. Online classes allowed me to train him at home, and to see how other dogs reacted without my pup getting stressed out in class. Lisa helped me understand him better, and I can't thank her enough!
