Waanyarra Camping Grounds

Nice campground. Water tank was full. Drop Toilets were good. Nice benches and covered Kitchen area. Lots of grassy areas to pitch tents. Many fire pitsThere were quite a number of people when I went but it never felt crowded, several different corners for groups to choose from. Kangaroos came to visit

A real getaway gem hidden off the beaten track for those who know it's there.Stunningly quiet, peaceful and serene would best describe this place. Lots of wildlife like Kangaroos etc come right up to your campsite each morning amd evening.Beautiful clean drop toilets (bring your own toilet roll). Tank water available from onsite taps. Under cover area with gas BBQ's. Plenty of space to pitch a tent, park your Caravan or RV.Dedicated walking/riding tracks abound through the bush that contains countless old gold diggings.

Really beautiful bush camping. Drop toilets were nice and clean. Non drinking water available. Looks like a couple of long term campers reside here, they were friendly and helpful. Plenty of walking tracks. Will come here again.

Great spot and be sure to visit Laanecoorie Lake for a refreshing dip.

Excellent camping ground with basic amenities. The are some shaded areas but the good spots go quickly. Can be used as a base for the walking trails, cycling tracks or prospecting.

Waanyarra camping grounds is situated in the Waanyarra/Dunolly state forest, it is surrounded by old timer diggings and one can walk straight from the camp ground and start gold detecting or relic detecting, camp ground has a modern pit/drop toilet and a handicap extra large toilet, toilets are clean but carry your own paper or wipes, there is a nice size shade hut with seating and a large grass area for picnicking, there is tank water but not suitable for drinking, the free camping area is quite large and is accessible for all vehicles up to large buses and moter homes, the area can dry out quite considerably during warm weather and can be dusty if winds pick up, the old cemetery is within walking distance with a few well maintained and marked graves along the side of the road. Dunolly township and Tarnagulla township are approximately 10min drive, Dunolly being a small town with petrol and a supermarket whereas Tarnagulla has a small take a way cafe and a number of nik nak shops.

Spent the long weekend here. Very quiet even though there were several set ups, there was still plenty of room. Fire pits scattered around, clean drop toilet, several walking tracks, dog friendly, but phone service was very limited. TV reception was good. March flies were a bit of a bother but not a deal breaker. Would come here again.

Great free camping, quiet and nice roomy sites.

Nice n quiet if that's your thing. There's drop toilets but that's about it. Interesting and slightly creepy cemetery nearby. Little bit of old rubbish but lots of spots to choose from. We tried to find Murderer's Hill but no such luck. Can anyone point it out in maps?
