SA Automotive had our 4Runner for 6-7 weeks just for a head gasket and 4WD servicing.Normally not a long job however it took 3 weeks for a part to arrive which turned out to be the wrong part so had to wait even longer. We didn’t know this happened because communication was so poor we were constantly ringing for updates which they couldn’t give us any timeframes or what was really happening with the car. Sometimes we would call 10x in a row before they answered the phone. Regularly said they would call us back but wouldn’t.Finally they got the right part then claimed our fuel injectors needing replacing. Another 3 weeks and still claimed they couldn’t find the right fuel injectors for the car and again another wrong part had arrived. They claimed our car was too old to work on and ended up refusing to finish the job so we had to hire a car trailer and drive 3 hours (one way) in the middle of a work week to bring to a more local mechanic. Our local mechanic has found it was not the fuel injectors at all, SA automotive had actually snapped the near-new timing belt, bent a valve in the head and caused a myriad of other problems. No wonder why they wouldn’t tell us what was going on!All I’m saying is I am glad that SA Automative didn’t end up charging for their services because it was so poor.Honestly would not recommend and definitely won’t be coming back.If you can, stay away.

These guys are legends, steering pulley had broken, something had gone wrong with it. They not just put it on, the lads also ended up staying behind after closing which is 5pm just for me, knowing that I had to go Melbourne next day. This won’t be forgotten, thanks heaps guys I’ll be recommending to my family and friends!

Wise automotive replaced the head on my engine. Subsequently I have found 9 problems caused by poor workmanship that has taken me 6 months to finally sort out, including coolant hoses not tightened at all, expansion tank and radiator damaged and leaking - which could have blown the new head, starting problems and rough idle problems - all because of lack of attention to detail. So far the new head is going fine though. P.S. Hose clamps not tightened at all. I chose to resolve issues myself because i didn't want my car out of action on numerous occasions, and I wanted to make sure it was done right. I suspect this is not indicative as Mr Wise was under the pump with an injury at the time.Post added, my rocker cover is now leaking oil, just discovered that wise auto used normal household silicon on it. Now I have to remove the cover and dig out all of the silicon that is not rated for engine heat and once again fix a dodgy job.April 2018. I can see what has happened now, the rocker cover gasket Wise auto put in is incorrect, hence all the silicone to get it to seal. I know this for 2 reasons. 1. I did the rocker cover seal myself 7 years ago, so have experience, the new one I ordered is correct and clearly the one put in is not. Once again, Wise Auto is probably reliable, have had good service in the past, but at this time, Mr Wise was injured, under the pump and had to employ a young mechanic. Hopefully this never happens to any subsequent customers. I do get the impression that David Wise is clever and good at what he does, I think the rails came of for a brief time last year. Kind Regards. James

Simone was great. I had an accident in the morning and was pretty shaken up. I was able to bring my car in immediately, they were honest and so helpful in explaining the damage and my options, really eased my stress. Will use them for normal service. Thanks again! Highly recommend :)
