Penguin Parade
I’ve been here the second time. If you are reading this, you’re in luck. Highly recommend to stay indoor until the last minute or even after the recommended time. The penguins won’t come back in hundreds. Just a few at a time. The best view is when the penguins looking for their home which you can view from the deck.

A great experience for families! Seeing the baby penguins was super cute and a bucket list item. A great activity to do if you’re on Phillip Island already. However, I personally would not drive the 2 hours from Melbourne just to see this. I wish it had been a little more interactive, not just seeing penguins coming out of the water. A penguin museum or perhaps a feeding session would have been splendid.

The Penguin Parade is a must-see attraction for anyone visiting Phillip Island in Victoria, Australia. The parade takes place every evening at sunset and involves hundreds of little penguins waddling up the beach to their burrows in the sand dunes. The penguins are absolutely adorable, and watching them come in from the ocean in small groups and make their way up the beach is a truly unique and unforgettable experience. It's amazing to see how they navigate the waves and the rocks and make their way home. The Penguin Parade is well-organized, with a large viewing area and a boardwalk that provides a great view of the penguins as they come up the beach. There are also plenty of knowledgeable guides on hand to answer any questions you might have about the penguins and their habitat.Overall, I highly recommend the Penguin Parade of Phillip Island to anyone visiting the area. It's a unique and memorable experience that you won't want to miss!

Penguin Parade
We reached the final stop on our one-day tour to Phillip Island, where we had the chance to see the adorable penguins rushing home together. It was heartwarming and cute. However, I wouldn't say it's a must-see when visiting Melbourne. We visited on a winter day, and the penguins only appeared after sunset in small groups of around 10 at a time. It was a bit challenging to spot them in the dark, and finding a good viewing spot in the crowded area was important.Unfortunately, photography and videography were not allowed. I felt that the presence of a large crowd and loud chatter might not be ideal for the penguins' experience either.Personally, I would have enjoyed watching at home a well-captured video of these penguins in their cozy habitat instead. Also, I couldn't figure out how they counted the number of returning penguins. The staff on the radio claimed to do the counting, but I was left curious about their method.Overall, it was a nice experience, but it had some limitations.

Amazing experience. Rangers are extremely knowledgeable and more than happy to answer our questions. Better to go early to catch the best seats. There are 3 types of seats available, book accordingly. Carry a good jacket with a hood and a nice blanket to sit on as it's quite chilly even in spring. If you are lucky, you can catch glimpses of sea lions and other wild life. They provide you with an estimated time of arrival of penguins. Strictly no photos are allowed after sunset as camera flashes can harm penguins' eyes which are sensitive to blue light.

I have been dreaming of coming to this parade since I was a child.just waited for the day to be in australia. It costs 30$ to see the penguins per adult. You get to see the penguins sitting on benches close to the shore. You can also see them while sitting in the sand. That is what we did. Come well equipped as it started raining and you cannot use umbrellas as you will block people's view. Some may say it is a rip off. When you arrive there are signs explaining what they do for the penguins as it is a natural reserve and research is done. You can also watch a movie about it. You will also learn that for example domestic cats come and disturb the penguins, so the people who work there have installed cameras and do everything to protect the penguins. Why pay if you can see them for free? Well here you can see them walking to their burrows. You pass on a bridge which is slightly lit up and you can see them heading to their burrows. Here lies all the magic. You can just stare at them for hours. When they come out of the sea they are tiny (25-30cm)as they are the smallest penguins on the planet. If you have binoculars bring them with you. I do recommend. There are thousands of people however so be prepared to be in a crowd. There is a lot of parking spaces and it doesn't really get blocked when leaving as you can leave at whatever time you want.

Wonderful experience with a lot of improvements compared to last time I visited 9 years ago. I was very pleased to see the ticket on the night was sold out, but things were all in order without feeling crowded. We were lucky the weather and temperature were perfect, and the beautiful clear sky was another highlight apart from the lovely penguins. Unfortunately, some new visitors didn't pay attention to following the rules of avoiding using mobiles or any blue-light devices after sunset, which would interrupt penguins feeding and survival. Hope better awareness in place to protect the vulnerable creatures and long last the amazing Phillip Island heritage lands!

Penguin Parade
Definitely the best tourist attraction in Melbourne! Eye opener for the kids to get so close up with the little penguins. Best to bring kids even before sunset to enjoy the Island’s beautiful natural scenery and you might catch little penguin outside their burrows waiting for their parents to come home. Don’t worry if you cannot view much of the penguin parade with general viewing tickets. Head over to the bridges where its above or near their burrows. you will sure get to view them waddling towards their burrows which is close to you at the bridge. Enjoy~
