Great place for the kids to learn to swim.

We attend the swiming training for more than 3 years, visit every weeks. But unfortunately, I am very disappointed recently. No parking space at all, over booking, not enough employee in the space. I will try to find another swiming center in the area.

An outstanding swim school!! Brilliant teachers with very positive, kind, patient and encouraging attitudes. My kids have progressed in their swimming abilities well beyond what we’d achieved at other swim programmes in the area. Staff are always willing to reschedule when our kids or unwell or have an unexpected clash in timetables. 100% pleased with the lessons, level of service, attitudes, facilities & parking. Keep up the amazing work Kingswim!!

Amazing staff from the moment you walk in until you leave, makes the swimming experience much more comfortable and relaxed. Headed by a great young man I believe is Justin, keep up the great work and environment you have at King swim

Good facilities, that’s where it ends unfortunately. We have a pool at home and my son was thriving in the water until he commenced swimming lessons here (April 2022) which lasted a couple of months prior to us ceasing the sessions (June).He regressed so badly during this time that he didn’t want to partake in the lessons and was complaining about his eyes and nose presumably due to the chlorine content. I felt he was placed in a class that didn’t challenge him, and was below the level he was at. Was limited to monkey walks and using a kick board with floaties - Lvl 1 I believe.Anyway, we went on a holiday overseas immediately after ceasing sessions and within 4 weeks just swimming with mum and dad, he now swims without floaties and unassisted! Amazing turnaround. Unfortunately don’t recommend.

I wasn't happy with the swimming teacher or they orgniseMy Daughter nearly drowned and I was about to go in.She was a beginner swimmer and she went off the white board. Why are beginner swimmers in water above their level? It was about 8 to 15 seconds before the teacher even noticed and she only had 3 children in the class.

great facilities but staff are not great ive been with them since they opened 3.5 years havent been happy for a while and then they took money out a week later we went into lockdown rang today and said i wont be comfortable for a long time them being in the pool and they wont refund my money they cant accommodate to the times we need but put new members a head of the loyal exising memebers. if its not settled i will take this to the ombudsman after all this time my boys still cant swim.

I received an email today that quotes“In special circumstances an additional spectator will also be allowed to enter.”This is disappointing. My partner and I haven’t been allowed to enter at the same time when accompanying our toddler for his swimming lesson. One of us is told we can’t enter due to restrictions. However on multiple occasions I witness additional spectators (grandma’s, grandpa’s, both parents, etc.) entering alongside an additional guardian and child/toddler.So I am very interested to know how staff at Mernda Kingswim decide who can and cannot have an additional person with them.My biggest gripe, however, is the boom gate. For almost 7 months I am told I can’t have a pass because it doesn’t work or they’re too busy or “next week we’ll have it ready” and every week for 7 months I am yelled at and/or beeped by other parents because they believe me to be taking advantage of the parking or just lingering in the driveway. Every week when I ask for a pass I am told to “just call and someone will open it” but every week no one answers my call or I am waiting for someone to answer anywhere from 10-20 minutes.So I give you one star. Because why do other parents have a pass but we don’t? Why do we have to endure the evil glares and yells from parents who think I am in the wrong? Why are we the only ones in our time slot who can only have one accompanying adult while others have nan or pop watching alongside the pool?

Kingswim is not as flexible with younger age groups (6-18months) as babies don’t always have a steady routine, having sometimes a rough night which leads the family to not be able to make it to the class and need a reschedule. Then providing with the option to only reschedule a class once and then get charged regardless if you can make it or not, is a red flag for my family having a child in this age group. I do understand it’s written in the policy but maybe it’s time for the head office to review this part and accommodate for the families with younger children.Also, regardless if it’s written in the policy, it would be nice if the staff were trained to inform the parents who request a reschedule, that they can only reschedule once as per policy.Nonetheless the above, our swimming instructor is great as well as their learning program. I would recommend them for their approach and the way the class is delivered. Furthermore, the staff are great, very polite and friendly, always feels good to go in. The building is relatively new with plenty of changing rooms with extra space for prams to fit in and I always find the facility to be clean.
