The Derby Bike shop is a great little shop in the riding destination Blue Derby. On an interstate road trip with my mountain bike, these guys happily fixed my bike's shifting by replacing one of my cables. This was awesome considering I walked in that morning looking for help that day. Pricing was very good for mechanical work and the staff are extremely friendly.Although I did not use any of their hire bikes, I thought it was awesome to see a hire fleet of Commencal bikes, which are generally a direct-to-consumer brand (correct me if I'm wrong).

Really helpful staff who set us up for a great family day out. On our first day in Derby we visited all the bike stores. Several seemed uninterested in taking any time to chat about our needs and just referred us to their website, all except Derby bike shop. They were excellent. Bikes were fabulous and we all had a ball. My teenage boys say it was the best day of their lives. Definitely recommend!

5/5 first visit, 0/5 second visit.2.5/5First visit was great, I picked up a few spares before a ride and the service was quick and cheerful.Second visit was really disappointing. I dropped in to purchase a few replacement spokes for my rear wheel. I asked the mechanic if I could borrow a ruler to quickly measure what size they were, so I could grab the spokes and complete the repair myself that evening. I’m by no means an expert mechanic, but worked in bike shops while I was younger and would complete wheel builds for customers.Unfortunately, he refused to let me borrow a ruler and then told me measuring the spokes would be a waste of time due to stretch, tension, etc. I’m open to learning new things and listening but the tone he used was condescending and rude.He did offer to repair the wheel, which I appreciate, but I had booked an afternoon of shuttles and my bike was still ridable. He didn’t listen to my situation or what I needed at that time.I went 50m across the road to Evolution and received a much more positive experience from their mechanic and sales staff.

We bought a bike from derby bike shop. Both Damo and Claire were very knowledgeable and friendly. Everything from talking about maybe buying a bike through to setting up the bike and after sales service was a breeze. Next time we are after any bike kit, Derby bike shop will be our first choice.

Fantastic experience with Derby Bike Shop.In early November this year I organised to come down to Derby with 11 of my friends and family of varying riding abilities. We booked the bikes a couple months in advance and I was able to just send through the heights and weights of the riders so as that when we arrived and received a quick briefing, the bikes were ready with our names on them and we were able to just jump on and get to the trails!The staff were super friendly and knowledgeable and gave some awesome and clear instructions to those that were new to riding.Overall a great experience from people that really have a passion for mountain biking and top quality bikes.Thankyou!
