Australia Zoo Wildlife Hospital

Such an amazing behind the scenes tour. Our tour guide Sophie was great and very informative.

I dropped a Frogmouth Owl off to a vetenary clinic in Caboolture for treatment to a damaged wing. I was informed that the bird would be sent to Australia Zoo for treatment. I have made several attempts to get information on the birds condition, only been able to speak with one person there voicing my concerns. This person took my contact details and said someone will get back to me with an answer. Still no results. This bird is only 4 months old, it was hatched on my property. The wing was not badly damaged. The wildlife carers I have spoken to, hold grave fears for the bird. Their opinion is that the bird would have been euthenised. I hope this is not the result.

For the average tourist, I think that unless you care about wildlife that it's not really worth the $2 donation. Whether you'll see something cool or nothing at all is variable and slanted towards nothing at all. If you care about wildlife conservation, obviously donate, but as a tourist attraction I can't recommend it at all.

The hospital tour is a must, it lasts around 1 hour, and I was very impressed with the amount of detail the tour goes into and how much you get to see. Really appreciate the insight, highly recommended!

If anyone come to Australia Zoo, it's worth to buy the sneak peek ticket to the Australia Zoo Wildlife Hospital. You can see animals in rehabilitation or sometimes even you can see animals in surgery.

Excellent Stay, Excellent Service Excellent Staff, Suggestions : Need more seating around pool, perhaps an upper deck, Need to have a swipe card and boom gate to regulate paying customers from Random Visitors. Need a swipe card to enter pool , or force patrons to wear arm bands as so many randoms in pool. Other than that would definitely stay again.

Really educational about animals and how they need our awareness to stay alive. Really great job they do here. Sad and emotional to see Steve Irwin's work and history but great that his work lives on. Really cool to see the hospital too.

My son found a bearded dragon being harassed by birds in a park, was barely responsive. We put him in a box and wildlife carers took him to aus zoo. My son was delighted that he could choose a name. He chose Rocka.We popped in to check on her and she was suffering from fatigue, had a bit of r&r and was released back where we found her.
