Swan View Tunnel
Walk, run, cycle along bushland just minutes from Midland, Perth, WA; Then carefully pass along a spooky old railway tunnel in darkness.

Excellent little walk to the tunnel. Highly recommend using Google maps to park at Swan View Railway Heritage Hub" as the trail to the tunnel is directly left to the Carpark.Even on sweltering hot summers day it was damp in some parts of the tunnel

Swan View Tunnel
Nice flat walk to get to this historic tunnel which has informative signage along the way. It is quite dark and has stones on the ground so if you are not steady footed maybe bring a torch. I do recommend a visit.

Only 700m from the parking lot. Easily marked trails and info signs at the other end of the tunnel.

Fun, short approximately 3-4km loop. Good fun with children. Make sure to bring a torch, headlamp or charged phone flashlight for the tunnel!

Swan View Tunnel
Opened in 1895, once a railway tunnel now an interesting site and walk way of historical significance. The history of this place is dotted with tragedy, the design of the tunnel didn't allow for good ventilation. The tracks are gone these days and the only traffic is foot and bicycles. Be aware after rain the floor will be more than just damp, appropriate footwear is highly recommended.

Nice historical railway tunnel. Long, wet and dark. Not suitable in rainy season. However, amazing experience and nice adventurer to climb up the hill above the tunnel to view city of Perth and the eagle rocks. Watch your steps. Needs lights (mobile or torch). It is 2.2 km far from the John Forrest picnic area car park and 1.2 km from the waterfall of John Forrest National Park. However it just few hundred meters from the cross of Swan view Rd with Morrison road (west side of the tunnel). No facilities nearby;unless you go to the picnic area.
