Whenever I need to go away for a few days, I take my dog here. Friendly staff, like to have a chat, really nice people, into animals. The place doesn't take on too many pets, so I know that my dog is well looked after and receives her medication and exercise on time. When I pick her up, she's happy and acts the same. She likes the staff, which is a good indication. There are only 3 dog kennels in Orange that I'm aware of and I've tried all three. She has stayed at Springside which is ok, but I think that she is happier at Te-Aroha. As for the third place, Petcare on Bathurst rd, she will never go back there, as they lost her medication the last time, and weren't even bothered to look for it! Only after I made it clear that I wasn't leaving without it, did they look for it. The female owner wasn't very happy about that! Also as I was waiting, I could see my dog outside in a very small fenced off area. It had a high fence and all I could see was that see was trying to get out. I had told the staff when I brought her in that she shouldn't be jumping that high, as she has back leg problems. They should have left her in the run as the fenced off area was too small, the only thing she could do was jump! The runs in which they sleep are very small, they're more like large crates with no space to walk around. Make sure that you check out the place before leaving your pet.But the worst part was, that after I picked her up, she was very quiet and passive all day, not happy to see me, no matter what I did. At night she dug herself in against me, which she's never done before. It's taken a while before I could leave her again at a kennel, but she seems fine when I leave her here.
