Parklands Terminal

Great place to start your journey. Check in staff we efficient and helpful. The luggage check in is a bit like in an airport.

Only there to hop train to Melbourne.

Arrived back from Melbourne. Platform office CLOSED. No toilets available for people collecting passengers! Not good enough. Some passengers didn't have arrangements made to get to their Motel/Hotel. We offered a lift to one lady & thankfully she accepted. We dropped her outside her accommodation on North Terrace.I was embarrassed that people could not get any service & the Overland had not even arrived. Please change the hours of the Parklands Station so that staff stay until passengers can get refreshments & use toilets. This is not acceptable.

Great welcome from Ghan staff, smooth check in, live entertainment while we waited to board.

Very confusing and hidden signage. We struggled to find the carpark and drove around for a while because the signs were mostly hidden behind trees and were extremely poorly lit. The cafe has a very small selection of foods and I don't believe there is a menu at all (I could be wrong, but when I was there, I didn't see any menus). According to the website, luggage trolleys are available to use with a gold coin, kind of like Aldi trolleys, but when I arrived they were padlocked and I had to get a staff member to unlock them for us. The customer service was pretty good, everyone seemed quite friendly. Not the best experience, but not the worst either.

Clean tidy and covid safe. The staff are friendly, helpful and polite. Comfortable chairs to sit in while waiting for the train to come. We were given a cup of tea, coffee or orange juice which was bought to you. The check in staff were very helpful, gave you all the information without any hesitation while booking our luggage in. Although the gift shop could have been open I would have liked to have bought a tshirt or jumper.

For The Ghan, Overland and Indian Pacific trains only, this specific train terminal is convenient and spacious. Friendly staff, fantastic service on check in and before departure. Access to car-on-train arrangements are easy. Ample free parking.
