Alida Restaurant at Penny Royal
The service was great and the waterfall outside was definitely the selling point but the food and the drinks were average for its price. If you are used to the fine dinings in Sydney or Melbourne, this is not going to satisfy you.

Highly underwhelming.The meals are very disappointing and bland. Small portions - the gnocchi was awful. The lamb was tough. We had cocktails and chose the happy hour options as it was between the hours, when it came time to pay we were told that was only in the lounge but were never told that when we ordered despite pointing on the menu. Service was mediocre and ambience minimal.Way over priced for such a meal, go to Still Water across the road it’s similar price and exceptional.

Don't come hereAte here a few months ago and it was NOT enjoyable. Ordered fries that were genuinely the worst cooked I've ever seen, Soggy + unedible. Ordered Steak that was tasty but VERY small for it's price and without a scale I'm sure less than the advertised weight. They also charge $5 for postmix in a mixed drink! Which is not even on the menu.In fairness, the staff were friendly and attempted to overcome our issues and deducted off the bill (hence the 2 stars) but I must recommend to Fellow visitors to the beautiful city of Launceston - eat elsewhere.

Accidently entered this restaurant after looking around. Wow the classy environment, waiters in 3piece suite.Great view, and the food is scrumptious. Great customer service. Fine dining- love it. Highly recommend.

One of the most underwhelming experiences I've had, came here based on the positive reviews we saw here.The food was not up to par with the quality compared to other restaurants that charge for the same price. Imagine ordering a $50 steak but it doesn't even come with sides, have to pay $10 for it. 3/5The service was also below average, it felt like we were neglected and when we asked questions about the menu we got cut off mid sentence.2/5The only positive is the view and atmosphere

The food was superb just the right amount on the plant and with yet again just enough ingredients to be tasty and fresh. I left feeling satisfied..the dessert were some of the highest quality I have tasted. The atmosphere was great. The dress of the wait staff needs to be 5 star I'd highly recommend the restaurant for everything else and encourage you to go to for a quality full meal well worth the money

We don’t impress easily and we were definitely impressed. The eye fillet was pure perfection, the sauce so intensely layered with flavour. The blue eye trevella was poached on point. Sticky date pudding was a superb end to a fantastic meal.

Our group of 9 had a seafood selection. There was so much to choose from. The oysters were fresh with a variety of options - raw and cooked with various sauces. The fish was fresh and cooked perfectly. There were scallops and calamari and salads. The chips are hand cut in house so were like the real chips we used to get! The service was excellent. The wine list was very good and extensive.

One year ago I had reviewed them as one of the best places in Launceston and I've been back multiple times since but tonight just had probably the worst meals ever. The lamb meant to medium rare, was beyond chewy and cold, like biting on rubber.I had 2 friends visiting from interstate with me and had to apologise for wasting their money on the meal.Compare the photos I uploaded last year to the ones from tonight, what a disappointment and a horrible experience.

Modern eatery. Great service. We went in a group. Tasty food and good setting. Will definitely be back.
