National Pass
This path is just pure beauty as there is almost constant views as you hike the trail! I have hiked many mountains and trials in Aussie and hands down this is the most beautiful trail i have ever hiked.Parking there isn’t hard, I recommend just heading down to National Pass via Wentworth Falls track. Even though the trail is partially closed due to a 2017 worker’s death accident, the part that isn’t - is gorgeous enough and safe. Definitely worth the time and energy!

The National Pass walk was spectacular. We took it from the Wentworth Falls Carpark on Thursday April 15 (school holidays). We were glad we started the walk early about 9am as it was getting packed on our return back to the carpark at about 12:30pm. Currently the walk is not a circuit (you will have to walk back the same way you came). We walked the route from carpark to the point at Slack Stairs where it was closed off and the only option was to walk back or continue on to the valley floor next to the waterfall. It was a strenuous climb back up but totally worth it. We are relatively fit and in on our mid 50's it was a challenge but you are rewarded with superb views. This is an epic walk in a very special landscape = highly reccommended.

Great hiking path with multiple lookouts and great views over the blue mountains and the waterfall. It's a good 5 hour walk but it fairly family friendly. Ideal for weekend visits.

Lovely area to bushbwalk. If you can deal with the mid, it's sometimes better to go after a rainy day so the waterfalls are in full display.

The breathe taking Wentworth Falls viewed from the base. The National Pass trail offered spectacular views of the Blue Mountains.

Good view to the waterfall, but slightly wet at some point and steep stairs, so be prepared. Takes an hour return to walk to the waterfall view, or 3-4 hours to walk the whole circuit. But some tracks in this section is currently closed.Even on a weekday it is quite crowded, and heat is intense on a hot sunny day!

UPDATE: THE national pass is CLOSED (october 2017) due to rock falls. see NSW national parks site for more infoParked at Wentworth Falls picnic area . I would start from there and goto Wentworth Falls first. Track is grade 3 due to the steep inclined stairs hand cut into the rock that go for about 500m almost straight down in places, I wouldn't like to walk up that after doing the whole trail . It says 3 to 4 hrs, did it in 2 and i certainly didn't hurry. (I take alot of photos). It's probably the best bush walk I've done in my life, seriously beautiful. Would walk again. Wear good shoes and you will get wet from the multiple water falls along the track.

If you want to do National Pass, then take the slightly longer Wentworth Pass (which drops deeper into the canyon and you'll cross small creeks/streamsm before finishing off with some really nice waterfalls (Sylvia and Ladore). You end up finishing on Valley of Waters track near Conversation Hut.Start from Wentworth Falls Car Park. Do the walk to top of falls, and continue across the stepping stones heading towards Rocket Point lookout. At the junction where you head to Rocket Point lookout (signposted), take a right under the rock ledge to the signs saying National Pass. That'll take you down the Giant Staircase (not to be confused with the Giant Stairway at Katoomba which is about 5 times the size!).Giant Staircase comes down the cliffside, and will bring you to the middle cascade of Wentworth Falls. Cross the falls and continue along the track, and you'll come to an intersection where you can see National Pass is closed. Wentworth Pass starts from here.Follow the path / signs to Wentworth Pass, and you'll eventually end up at the base of Wentworth Falls (absolutely breathtaking).Continue on the path and you'll end up at the series of enclosed ladders you have to climb down. That can be fun :D ..From there you continue walking along the canyon floor, and the track is kinda rough in areas so you need to have your wits about you. Eventually you come out of the canyon at Valley of the Waters track.Track takes about 4.5 to 5 hours (and we are experienced hikers and walk pretty fast). Allow a full day if slower.Well worth the effort though.NOTE: if you do the walk in the other drection (Valley of the Waters > Wentworth Pass > National Pass > Wentworth Falls), then you'll have some intense ladder/stair climbing in the final hour and a bit of your walk.
