Island Primary Produce

Definitely don’t recommend. We regularly purchased from this butcher over many years, unfortunately change of ownership and very disappointed, won’t be returning. Was charged accidentally twice, I contacted the owner, no apology but was requested to send a copy of the double charge which I did. They could not find it in their records therefore was instructed to contact my bank instead of them looking at dates around my purchase. They eventually found the double charge and processed a refund and blamed me for not giving the date it went into their bank. STILL NO APOLOGY.

Even after 15 years of being there, we went there today and bought steaks and it is still the best steak we have ever eaten. Wish we lived closer but unfortunately we live in QLD, I would give it a 10 star if I could.

Best god dam butcher there is in Melbourne and Victoria. Try the ribeye.

Jake and his team do a wonderful job in what I think is the key to being a great butcher. Fantastic options we are all familiar with as well as having something quirky and interesting to keep you popping in. Whether it be different but expertly crafted sausages or smoker suited cuts I always leave with more than I intended :)

The best beef ever! Since moving onto the island and discovering this little butcher shop we all can't wait for Sunday to arrive to put a nice chunk of quality beef in the oven, always tender and the flavour is mouthwatering! See for yourself and check them out! Oh and while you're there grab some of their merlot and cracked pepper sausages you'll be happy you did!Edit* the young portly fellow with the spiked hair needs a lesson in customer service as he comes across very arrogant and lacks knowledge of the products he's selling, shame. The meat is definitely 5 star but service is now 2 star at best.I go to hilltop butchers now great meat and service with a smile!

We have used Island Primary Produce for many years. Great quality meats and fantastic service. We have yet to meet anyone who does not love their sausages.

Love this place, the best Meat in Victoria in my opinion, love the crumbed pork chops and filo filled parcels , yum!!!! and while you order your food, you can order the best coffee and toasties on the Island and always get a smile from the staff.

What happened? - Have been coming here every year when we visit the island as we recognise good food and while the meat was still lovely I was disappointed with the non engaging staff at the butcher and his lack of knowledge about how the produce is made, I was then disappointed to see the fresh food section had mouldy food in the fridge and almost no fresh stuff just all in jars and cans. Would love to see it ramped back up as it was an amazing little place.

Best meat I’ve ever had. Everything from brilliant steaks, to dog bones! Highly knowledgeable butchers that won’t stand for second best.
