The location, building and decor is lovely. The service was also very good. We also enjoyed the wines. However the food was well below par. The Whiting schnitzel with thrice cooked wedges was terrible. I've had better fish and chips from the frozen section of Coles. The mackerel was just ok but the sauce was like drinking pickle juice with fennel.Lucky we had great company and good wine.

We were drawn in by the location, beautiful setting and the lovely old home, now restaurant. Sitting outside under the beautiful trees was so nice. The staff were friendly. The food was so poor for what appears to be a high end restaurant with high end prices. Oysters Kirkpatrick were drowning in a thick red sauce with over the top bacon such that the oyster could not be tasted. The seafood was drowning in a very thick overpowering sauce and the pasta was a “chalky” consistency that generally means it is old. The mushroom risotto was warm and had a “skin” on top as if it had been sitting around and was flavourless. We asked for a dry white wine and the “wine expert” recommended a Tasmanian white (Josef chromy) that was bordering on a sweet dessert wine that we tipped into the garden. $230 including them helping themselves to a “service charge” (tip). We would love to hear from them before we ever go back.

I saw the bad reviews but still went. Cause the restaurant looked very fancy from outside. Service was good. But the cooking was just terrible. I mean absolutely terrible. It didn't even have proper amount of salt. Asked rare steak. Was served well done. I hope they change their cook or revise the cooking methods. The food taste doesn't really do the place any justice.

World class prices with average food. The place is magnificently presented - but seriously poor food. Staff are awesome. But if you want to charge at this rate you have to perform. I advise - go to Snapper Rocks - that place was great.

We hosted a corporate event at Admiralty House. The service was wonderful as soon as I walked in the door. Louis and the team did an amazing job looking after us and nothing was a bother. The food and drinks were delicious. Highly recommended and will definitely be back!

The food was very average, as was the service, and then they charge top dollar. Further, there were many wines not available and there was two sources of music, one from inside and one from outside, making for a terrible auditory experience. We suggested that they turn off the inside music and we wer told someone else was in charge of that - quite strange. There is much better options elsewhere in Darwin.

Substandard cuisine at exorbitant prices! We were really anticipating dinner at this place, but what a letdown! On a bed of rock salt, the half lobster consisted of four small mouthfuls of plain lobster (not sure what happened to the butter sauce). No salads or side dishes are included; you must pay an additional $10 to $14 for them. Four small mouthfuls of lobster cost $95. This was not the high-end dining experience we had anticipated. We left the restaurant feeling hungry and unsatisfied after spending $350.

The food was nice Service was average. But we were very disappointed when we were charged for other people’s drinks and when we approached management who would not believe us and did nothing to check their records until we got very upset and demanded action. Would not recommend but if you go check your bills.
