Gina McMaster

I do not recommend Gina for family violence issues. I was in a violent relationship. Before I left the relationship we sought counselling with Gina as I thought it could change with counselling. During a session Gina told me hitting a child is necessary sometimes, I had a baby at the time. I know that psychology research shows smacking is definitely not recommended and research details harmful psychological effects of it. I found this advice from her unprofessional especially since I was suffering physical abuse at the time. Gina seemed supportive of the abuser. She didn't seem to be experienced in the area of family violence.

Terrible ... Rang and emailed several times but Gina never returned by call .... how rude...

I'm not sure how good a psychologist Gina is ... she failed to show up for the appointment we had made with her. For over 20 years my wife and I have had our fair share of relationship troubles and finally we made an appointment to seek counselling. The appointment was made a few weeks ago and we even received a text message the day before the appointment, reminding us of the appointment and stating that we would be liable to pay the full fee, if we failed to turn up without giving 24 hrs notice.Well we turned up 5 minutes before the scheduled appointment and waited for 30 minutes in the wind and rain, only for Gina to not show up to her office, nor did she contact us.1 hour later we received a phone call from her, where she stated that she had not bothered to check her diary that morning and had forgotten about the appointment.After putting off counselling for 20 years, we were most unimpressed with this lack of professionalism, and lack of regard shown by Gina McMaster.So with that I cannot recommend her services at all!!!

Gina has helped me in one of the toughest times of my life,I found Gina very easy to talk too, understanding and caring.she really has gone above and beyond any expectations that I had and for that I’m extreamly greatful.highly recommended.

I needed to figure things out. I asked for help and was given a list of counsellors, therapists, psychiatrists and psychologists. I spoke to many but never had the feeling that they GOT me. Going to a psychologist or a counsellor is quite liberating, so long as they are working with you rather than for themselves. Gina did just that, she worked with me, she uncovered my layers one by one and helped me find my core. Like no one else, she understood where I was coming from and she helped me set myself free. Gina practices mindfulness, which was where my psyche wanted to go. She is soft and gentle, strong and feminine. It was my pleasure. My gratefulness is immeasurable, Gina is a gift.

Gina herself is a good Psycologist very experienced.However this business has Absolutely deplorable communication between the Secretary Staff both internally and to Clients.Trying to make an appointment here will drive you insane.As of writing this review I Have Been waiting over a month for a call from them to schedule my next appointment.....The Office Phone Secretary is the issue. She is rude and has a very bad attitude and blames her mistakes an everything and everyone else except herself.To make my first appointment this secretary returned my initial voice mail to my phone number that I had provided to the voice mail answering machine. During this call the secretary made an appointment and then immediately proceeded to advise me of the WRONG appointment date and time, meaning that I missed my first appointment.I was advised after a follow up, that During the missed appointment time, The office lady rang some random disconnected number which was not mine to see where I was.She then proceeded to blame me for giving her this random wrong number even AFTER she had SUCCESSFULLY contacted me on my correct number previously. I had given her my correct number at least TWICE....After sorting that out and having an appointment at a later date. I was told by Gina that the Office Secretary would be in touch to inform me of my next appointment time.Havent heard anything for more for over a month.Sick of chasing up appointments here and fixing this completely inept secretaries inexcusable stuff ups.If you want to keep or restore your sanity, make your appointment elsewhere.
