Great cheap place to camp for the night. The beaches are beautiful..

It's an alright drive in campsite, not much here. Have to have a membership for the buggy park to drive up the sand which is a shame, it's a very decent walk up steep dunes to the beach. The site would be good if you were doing the great walk, there's some firepits around.

Great place to camp. Fire pit, no amenities though.

I have recently returned from a four day camp trip at Swan Lake Campground and have mixed feelings.The location is genuinely beautiful. The view of the sand dunes next to the forest is nothing short of lovely. The wildlife is abundant and the aforementioned forests are absolutely enchanting.The campground amenities are barebones and good enough so long as you come prepared. (the website could be more informative). However the price of renting the campground is ludicrous for what you get, which is basically just the sandy ground.Unless you own a dune buggy you will not be seeing the beach. It is at least a 2KM walk through huge sand dunes to get there and when you do, unless you're a competent swimmer, you'll suffer.Altogether it's a fine area if you come absolutely prepared. Would recommend if you have no intention to go to the beach.

Didn't camp there, but spent the afternoon on he sand dunes doing a bit of 4x4 driving, it was a great experience definitely not for the inexperienced driver, was great that the Portland dune buggy club had a meet on thatnweekend so we could watch and see how the professionals do it..From what we could see the camp grounds look well maintained..Would like to go back and explore the area a lot more, there is more to discover..

Thanks to the Portland Dune Buggy Club for having us. We camped over the weekend & took the car out to explore the dunes. Great fun! Camp grounds are clean & well looked after with plenty of room to choose from. Allocated fire pits, water taps available & flushing toilets too! $50 for 4 day membership, it's a bargain!

This campground is great. Huge sites and fire pits everywhere. Bring your own firewood. If you want to get to the beach you will need a 4WD. And it looks like a dangerous coast line. Toilets are what you’d expect.

Nice quite location, ocean crashing in the background. Well protected from winds. Large fire pits and flushing drop toilets with bore water and taps scattered around campgrounds. Sand dunes are gr8 for 4wd, access to beach, a little choppy for swimming, however u can collect a little rubbish up, who knows u may find some awesome driftwood. Wild flowers, kangaroos and the old emu make for a good 2 or 3 night stop over.

The picnic area is near the walkers camp.Camping spots are flat and the camping ground is sheltered from wind.It would probably look nice early summer, late March it was bone dry with no visitors at all.The site is separated from any body of water by deep soft sand.Swan Lake is worth a detour on dirt roads.Swan Lake Campground is only for people who love sand dunes or determined walkers with no other choice.
