Volks Centre Smithfield

Recently my Mercedes-Benz had an issue which needed urgent diagnostic assessment and repair. After being told by my usual service company that I would have to wait over 2 weeks for a booking I decided to try the Volks Centre Smithfield. I phoned and spoke with Toby the owner and explained my situation; he was incredibly helpful and knowledgeable and said to just bring my car in whenever I could. I took it in early the following day and before lunchtime my car had been fixed and was ready for me to pick up. The part needed was a wheel sensor and they had one available so my car is now running perfectly. I'm so appreciative of the excellent service I received from Toby and his team and would 100% recommend them. I wouldn't take my car anywhere else now.

Rick and the boys were fantastic - we just had work done on our Mercedes ML350 at an authorised roadworthy certified mechanic in Toowoomba before travelling to Cairns. Something just did not feel right so we asked Rick to inspect the vehicle - thank goodness we did. There was so much damage to our car. The rear rotor was cracked - yes cracked from the heat of the brakes being stuck on. Rick said it was so dangerous he just couldn’t let us drive until it was repaired. He expedited the parts and repairs quickly to enable us to leave on time and keep to our travelling schedule- his prompt attention and expertise saved us so much money but more importantly possibly our lives. I came in with a very sick Audi, without an appointment. Ryan was incredibly kind and professional; he fixed it that same day, and charged what I felt was a reasonable price. Very impressive service - thank you so much!

Fixed my aircon and on my way home did a wheel sensor. Rang the centre and they bent over backwards to accomodate me without hesitation. Fitted me in and got all four sensors replaced. Highly skilled teamed recommend for all mechanical repairs.

Ric the service manager could not have been more helpful when I called him from Port Douglas to explain my need for an emergency diagnostic service on a concerning rattle that had developed on my Audi Q3 sports on the first freeway out of Sydney in mid May. It. Despite the busy schedule within an hour my car was on a hoist the rattle diagnosed & fixed. Great friendly & efficient service which this interstate traveller really appreciated. After moving from the city where I used to use the Volks Centre Portsmouth shop for my Golf R32 I discovered there was also a Volks Centre at Smithfield.I now wouldn't take my car anywhere else.Rick and the crew provide excellent service and very fair prices.They have fit me in" a couple of times now and go out of their way to help.Thanks to Rick and all the staff at Volks Centre.Tony Cadd"

These guys are the best. On a tow in on a Friday (when they are booked out weeks in advance) they couldnt be more efficient and helpful. We had a call within the hour with a diagnosis and estimated time of repair (quick!!) Our car was back on the road asap. Price was very competitive and service from Toby very professional.Highly recommended and very good facility.Will be back!!

These guys have worked on our Mercedes Sprinter van (which is our home on wheels) twice now, both times we have been really impressed with the service and the price has been very reasonable too.Thanks Rick, Toby and all the guys.

UPDATE: I got a call from Toby the owner to go over the issues. While it is still disappointing that they can't update the electronic service history like other independent mechanics do in Brisbane, I do appreciate his call and I do believe him when he says he will discuss the communication issues with his team. Primarily, if something can't be done, they should tell the customer that. It's not a good look for customers to go home and then find out things that were discussed, weren't actually done. I'm not against trying them again in future, particularly if they add support for updating the BMW electronic service history.Original review:No support for BMWs. Took my 2018 330i BMW in for a service. When I got it back they hadn't updated the electronic service history, or adjusted the electronic service reminder down from 30,000kms to 10,000kms as they said they would. I rang them and they said they were unable to change the service reminder and to bring it back to get the service record added. When I went back, they said they are unable to add the record of the service they performed on my car to its service history. I've got records in there from other independent mechanics who have serviced the car, so it's clearly possible. So, in summary, they didn't do what they said they would do and they didn't tell me that they didn't do it (waited to see if I would notice). To top it all off they added their advertising sticker to the back of my car... so I had to waste 10 mins cleaning that off too. They get 1 bonus star for being friendly but that's it!

Book ahead, these guys are always busy. The reason they're always busy is simple, they do top quality service and repair work on German automobiles with genuine parts and they guarantee their work. This makes them very popular, but it means you need to book ahead to get in. If you need emergency repairs done fast you have to look elsewhere or be prepared for a wait of one to two weeks.
