Only saw the outside, but it looks like a very well maintained piece of Australian history … in a very dry setting, which contrasts nicely with the nearby inlet and bay.

A small museum to the history of Carss Park and the Carss family, also has a roll for the Kogarah area of people who served in WW1. The staff there were friendly and definitely cared about the piece of history they were preserving.

Carss Bush Park, Blakehurst: located in the foreshore of Kogarah Bay, this wonderful parkland holds Regional Heritage Significance.The house you can see in the photos was once owned by a Scotsman by the name of William Carss in 1863 and is now a museum (only opened on Sunday) run by the Kogarah Historical Environment.
