When we got there the grounds were full of snow & the hutt had a smoldering fire the previous travelers had left behind. It is a campground worth visiting however challenging tracks to get there.

One of the best huts in the Vic high Country.. its a must see location..Then up the track a little more is the worlds biggest snow gum.

Beautiful spot to camp, plenty of space to setup. Popular stopping spot, though, so don't expect to have the place to yourself 24x7.Also, be sure to leave any non-perishable food (tins, etc) that you won't need. You never know when a lost hiker might need to stop for a night longer than they thought.

Great hut with a great history behind it. Heaps of room inside with seating along the walls and a solid wood kitchen table area. Massive fireplace (biggest I have ever seen in a hut) unfortunately it doesn't really throw the heat out into the hut which doesn't help when it's snowing. Definitely worth a stop in for lunch or a camp. Mobile reception from Mt Buller was a bonus.

If you visit any of the high country huts around Easter time or later pack warm clothes as the weather can change quick.... get your fire going early. Drop toilet on site...BYO paperleave the site cleaner than when you arrived.

Big hut. Big fire place. Big outside fire pit. Lot's of camping area. Very nice hut & well worth the drive. The tracks to get there are also good. Definitely only 4x4 tracks but not hard track's. There is also some amazingly beautiful views on the drive there.
