I’m a little shocked that I payed $27 for rice. I think it’s worth trying once though. I enjoyed the Demi glacé sauce. The serving sizes are huge!Edit: I noticed the owners have replied. I dined at lunch on the 7th of July. Not sure what the prices are now for lunch.

Officially rating it 3.5 stars. Very nice service, not a long wait. Reasonable price the thing that prevented it from being 5 stars was that when eating the Oumrice (pictured) there was a flavour that just kept getting through that was strange and unpleasant but not enough for me to stop eating entirely, and then the catalyst MUSHROOMS. Who puts mushrooms in fried rice? I deduced that that was the off flavour coming through and once I seen them all at the bottom of the rice simultaneously biting into one I politely spat it back out and that was it I was done and out the door. Mushrooms are so gross and it’s not made me feel sick. Again everything else was perfect so it still gets 3.5 stars and if they change the recipe in the future to exclude the fungus then I shall be back.

Lovely service, freshly cooked chicken and loved watching the egg get cut open.Flavour wasn’t really there though and not a big fan of the rice. Plus food took a while to come out even though it was a quiet weeknight.

There is something admirable about a small restaurant putting in their heart and soul to deliver something fun, delicious and different to the dining scene of Sydney city. What may be the norm in Japan can only be found in so many places here. It's hard and extremely stressful to operate in this day and age, so lend small business your support and keep the scene thriving!

Finally visited this place, after all the hype.Food was relatively good but it wasn't a huge wow factor. The price is relatively expensive for what the portion size was. Also if you order side dishes, you'll have to pay extra for sauces, eg. Mayonnaise. The ambience and service was good. Staffs were friendly. I wish there was menu option rather than scanning the QR code though. Was pretty quiet for a Friday night.

Awesome. Initially we ordered omurice, a few drinks, a side of takoyaki and the potato salad with my partner. The cream soda was delicious and the food was so good that I ordered more, including dessert. Try the honey latte if you can handle coffee late at night. The honey toast is buttery and soft on the inside with icecream that melts in with the bread. Incredible. Also, surprisingly busy for a Tuesday night. The chef handled the shop by herself for an hour, yet she was so fast to bring out the food. The Japanese mannerisms added to the experience and brings you sense of nostalgia if you've visited Japan, and if not, it's a nice dip of your toes into the culture. When chef Miki poured the sake I ordered, she even turned that into little a show. Definitely try it, I won't spoil what she does. Her and her colleagues service are of an excellent standard. You can tell they all have a passion for what they do.

Japanese soul food done right! The novelty is equally good and the staff were second to none. I also had the croquette which were good. I will come back again as their dark sauce matched so well with the omelette rice.

Tried the alpine somen experience today was so much fun for my daughter, and it was actually quite tasty and refreshing on a hot day.The seaweed chips and karage was tasty. Prices are reasonable. The melon drink is quite sweet, so is good as a desert.Very friendly service and nice clean place too!

Was so excited to eat here, though there were some matters that made the overall experience 3/5.Firstly, I had issues with the online ordering when it came to payment. The staff helped and were friendly, but could not explain why the payment via their online portal wasn't working.Unfortunately, the Omurice overall was just OK. The egg was nicely cooked. The rice was interesting, quite filling and generous, but it was a brown rice concoction. This place does advertise its Westernised Japanese, so I saw that with the rice. I also got the Hamburg with tomato sauce. The Hamburg was dry, but the tomato sauce combo was nice. My dining partner got the chicken katsu with demiglace sauce. The chicken katsu was gorgeous, crispy, and juicy! However, I'm not a big fan of the Demiglace sauce.I also got the Yuzu soda with icecream. Was OK, but I'd skip it and have a Kirin beer instead. We went during lunch, and the main owner(?) Chef, who does the egg cutting show wasn't there either. Not sure if you need to book in advance.I do recommend it, but for me personally, just a few things that took a couple of stars off.

Staff was so kind and polite but food was pretty average and pricey. Might be good for people who haven’t tried omurice before but not so much if you have (the rice was a little cold inside as well). Kinako latte is highly recommended on a cold day ☕️
