I had the pleasure of going out on the harbour with Tristan yesterday.I have been away from the water for a few years so I organised to do the boat handling course to brush up my ability to operate a vessel safely.Tristan’s calm & fun approach to instructing is worth every dollar, we achieved so much during the 4 hour session that I was fully confident in my own abilities. It was a windy day so there was more fun factor being added to our lesson.It felt like just hanging out with a friend on the harbour and not in a classroom, his passion to share the love of boating is evident and is just another testimony to his success in this field.I highly recommend anyone thinking of getting out on the water, to contact Tristan.You will not be disappointed and it will leave you wanting to learn more from him, he is a very experienced individual.Many thanks mate, looking forward to seeing you more on the harbour.Fair winds and following seas good sir.

I can not speak highly enough of Tristian his approach to teaching is laid back while at the same time being very professional. From the moment I met up with him at Mooney Mooney he was hands on deck to assist me with readying the boat all the while getting to know a bit about what I wanted to get out of the 3 hour's I had booked with him. His ability to impart knowledge in simple terms & demonstration was refreshing. We ended up going a bit overtime actually an hour & a half overtime this was at my request to which he willingly obliged even though he had to ring people & rearrange his schedule.I have come away from the time on the water with a new understanding of the water of my boat & how to work with them both to make boating a much more pleasurable & most importantly a safer experience for all who are on my boat in the future. As I said at the start of this review I cannot speak highly enough of Tristians ability & expertise I have no hesitation in recommending him to anyone contemplating furthering their abilities when it comes to boat handling.Geoff Watson

Had a great experience with Tristian from BoatWise on couple of private coaching sessions on my employer's boat. He was fun, patient and knowledgeable. Easy to work with and a great guy to get in touch for anything related to power boating.

After purchasing my 1950 timber boat in October 2022, a friend recommended that I contact Tristian for lessons. My partner and I had some boating experience many years ago, but we were lacking the initial confidence to head out on our own. We chose the 10 lesson package which worked out perfectly for us. We instantly felt comfortable with Tristian and his style of imparting his knowledge. An older boat can present different challenges and Tristian was so patient and positive and his enthusiasm, contagious! Nothing was too much trouble and no question too silly to ask. Tristian even encouraged us to bring our two dogs along! The whole experience was wonderful.We have absolutely no hesitation in recommending lessons with Tristian. We engaged Tristian for a few lessons when we first took delivery of our new boat and we are so glad that we did. Tristian is an excellent instructor with an easy manner, but a strong attention to detail and great knowledge around boating. Given we were both novices, we did subject Tristan to a few 'hairy' moments. He never once got remotely flustered, just handled the situation in a calm and able manner and then made us address the scenario again until we got it right and felt confident in doing so. When I bought my first boat I needed someone to show me the ropes from A-Z. My son and I were clueless and nervous as we just got our boat licenses. I was referred to Tristian from Boat Wise and I have never looked back. He was so knowledgeable, practical and oh so very patient! I would have never of had the confidence to take my boat out without having been shown the ropes from Tristian. Both my son and I are so grateful! Thank you Tristian.

My partner and I really enjoyed our session with Dave. We both recently obtained our licenses and have been out a couple times on the water but were still quite fresh and a bit all over the place. Our session covered a range of manoeuvres for managing different elements of our trips and I am now feeling like I have a new toolbelt of skills to make our trips on the water much more enjoyable. The training style was great and I can't wait to get out there and try things out on the water! We will definitely be back when we need to polish up our skills again.

Awesome experience with Tristan from Boat Wise Sydney. Very insightful and experienced.Even though I have sailing experience, he helped me with some very good tips and ways to manoeuvre. Highly recommended!
