Not much to do except enjoy the nice view. Nice picnic area. Birds watching. Black swans. On your way to the dam, Newman rockshelter.

Nice for a picnic but you can't use the water due to blue green algae which I didn't see any.

Nice place has bbq so can cook also has few signs up along the road with information about the native flora and fauna. Cannot swim in the dam

Probably the best part about Newman. Water is toxic so swimming not recommended. Toilets at barbecue/picnic area are disgusting. Several creek crossings to navigate on the way in. Meningitis risk, mosquitos containing encephalitis and blue green algae in the water. What a trifecta! Wouldn’t recommend stopping here.

Nice place for a picnic or BBQ. BBQ facilities on site. Signs everywhere telling you not to swim because of meningococcal risk. There is also a track that you can drive, with signs ever so often telling you about the wildlife and geology.

As a picnic/recreational location in an isolated part of WA this presents as a tidy and well maintained location. Great for paddling but swimming is not recommended. Locat (East Pilbara) Shore are to be commended for the upkeep of a facility well out of town.Overnight camping is officially disallowed but you are unlikely to be challenged

Beautiful place once your in there . The road was disgusting washed away , corrugated , just a mess the most beautiful stop shame they dont want visitors to the place

This is a place you can not swim or paddle, I would recommend not to take your Children here. It's lovely to look at. Has BBQ and it's in Newman WA

The only bit of water near Newman. Extraordinary amount of bird life. At least 50 black Swans. Road in is suitable for two wheel drive Although there is a creek crossing, is not too bad. There is a picnic area there however, there are mosquitos that will give you Encephalitis... All in all, not worth the effort. PS... Watch out for the bird catching spider webs!!!!
