We came by here since it was raining. We did stop by before to get some information regarding what sights to see but came back to do the Discovery Center. There are a few souvenirs in the shop too. They also have information regarding the status of the Francois Peron National Park. There is a small gallery on the left of the entrance which is free to enter and does have quite a few spectacular photographs of the area. There was also a 3D movie Fire on the Water" about the HMAS Sydney which was sad and informative. It ran every 30 minutes so you can easily wait for the next screening. The Discovery Center costs $11 for adults and $6 for children but it is a multiday pass so you are able to come back in at a later day

Got such got helo and info from one of the ladies, Rosie, behind the information desk. We asked for activities to do in Denham, Shark Bay and Monkey Mia when we walked in there at 10.30am. She informed us that most marine wildlife tours had left by then but she was able to give us excellent flyers of scenic flights above Shark Bay & sundown boating tours at Monkey Mia. She successfully booked in the cheapest scenic flight of 120 AUD per person for 20min at 12pm (excellent experience for those, like us, who don't have a 4WD but still want to see Francois Peron National Park) and the Sundown boat tour at 4.45pm for 49 AUD. She was able to give us correct info on the availability of kayak hiring at Monkey Mia and the closing of actual kayak tours during the weekend (it was a Saturday). We came in all confused about things to do and walked out with a plan. And let me tell you it was quite the day! Bit more expensive but we didn't miss a thing from Shark Bay!

Very helpful staff. But ... bookings need more info.Booking companies aren't always accurate. Tough today with. No local knowledge. It's like giving a craftspersons a blunt chisel. They can only recommend from the database they have.Confusion at start with contra- indicating signs. Didn't visit back display. Went to hotel. (Not a resort) descriptions are important.Idea! Compile a registry of foods offered. WA tourism fails miserably when it comes to dietry requirements including 0% alcohol. Some religions ban alcohol. We live in a diverse, cosmopolitan country. Some dont eat cow, pig, dog, cat, insect or any living thing. We don't all eat whatever. More people are saying NO. Same with alcohol, more are saying NO to alcohol. Cant mix meds with alcohol. Not very green, healthy or socially acceptable. Watch out for cops and diseases.

Located at the center of the Shark Bay . Lots of street parking . We are heading to visitor centre but the 2 ladies was unfriendly and unhelpful. This is the worst visitor centre we encountered. No one willing to provide information at all , both of them was chitchatting while we walked in . We self serve ourselves with the printed material on the table . Need entry fees for the Heritage Discovery Centre ( we are not entering , cannot provide any comments on it ) . It was a small Art Gallery - Free entrance . In the Art Gallery , you can view a free 3D film about the HMAS Sydney II & German HSK Kormoran . Tips : You can view another similar 3D video at Geraldton Museum.

I was very impressed with the information and the audiovisual presentations. I recommend a ~2.5 h visit.Entry was $11 pp, with the option of multiple entry on different days if you keep the receipt.A great selection of geographic, historical, cultural, industrial and commercial information was provided. Pictures and diagrams made it easy to follow. There was a plethora to digest and learn about. The atmosphere was conducive to enhanced curiosity. Suitable for young adults and adults. There was an interesting exhibition at the day we visited, which explained the story in a short 3D movie.Check out my photos to appreciate the space.

A wonderful experience, full of history from about 30,000 years ago to present. Includes wildlife, aborigine, dutch explorers and modern settlement. Interactive and lots to see. Plus we also saw Fire and water about H.M.A.S Sydney (II).
