Cape Schanck Lighthouse Reserve

Those views there are breath taking worth the drive hike down to pebble beach and listen to the waves crashing against the pebbles.

Cape Schanck gorgeous! ~free, parking is accessible but can get very busy during peak Summer/School Holidays.... windy so wear a hat that won't blow away! ~ the Lighthouse & museum is a paid tour and runs a few times a day during the holidays, it's not a must, but worth doing once....a beautiful day though even just enjoying the beauty of the Cape and walk from the extensive viewing platforms, without doing the tour. Cape Schanck offers walking tracks, spectacular views over the Southern Peninsula and Bass Strait.

Great place for a day trip. Has great walks. Has toilet facilities. Carpark can get very busy as it is a popular location. The board walk is nice, we went on a very windy day and couldn't go all the way due to having young children. Good for pretty much all fitness levels too.

As lighthouses and their surroundings go, it doesn't get much better than this!You don't have to venture far from the carpark before you start coming across some wonderful views. The scenery is indeed stunning and just keeps getting better as you head towards the boardwalk.While the amazing wooden structure it is referred to as simply a 'boardwalk', it may be better named the 'stairway to heaven'. It is incredibly beautiful (in a heavenly way) and the views change all the time. We were also very lucky to spot some whales in the distance.There are many places to rest along the walk or even stop for a picnic.The signs around Cape Schanck Lighthouse Reserve are very good so you always know where you are.Whatever your level of fitness, you will enjoy this incredible part of Victoria's rugged coastline.Show it off to interstate or overseas visitors or just enjoy it for all its majestic glory!
