The actual reserve is mostly fenced off at the moment for renovation works...hopefully later it will be great!

Large off leash dog beach. Plenty of car parking spaces. 2 tables and benches for picnics. Ample grass area for dogs to run around. Free dog tidy bags available, but sometimes runs out. Needs some taps with dog bowls for drinking and washing sand off feet. No undercover areas to protect from rain or sun. Distant views of the city. 3-5 mins walk from car to water.

I was pleasantly surprised with this location and its a really happening spot for the locals and visitors. Dog's off leads in the beach, heaps of walkers on the tracks and huge grass areas for what ever it is that you like.Myself I was there for paramotoring as a tandem plus I kite my own and being off the beach its the best way to kite a paraglider.plenty of parking..and the tide goes out a long way at this spot without being too deep

If you're a fan of dogs this is your place, lots of open space and shallow areas to play around in.

My dog has anxiety and he handled this place so well!. All the dogs were well socialised and there is plenty of room to run around especially in low tide.

Nice part of Altona with lots to see, particularly nice to walk around the beach. Great views to the city.Signage is good. Toilets available. Close to a few shops. This is a nature tail is some aspects. Expect to see people with dogs and in warmer months - possibly snakes.Wheelchair accessible. Kid friendly my. Good carparking.

Great DOG beach. Improved fencing now. Improved fenced trails from main car park. Unfortunately the water for dogs & humans has been shut off due to C19. Take water for your dog especially if they like going into the salt water. They get thirsty quickly In salt water.

We don't usually go to the beach area during busy times but we do enjoy our little quiet corner. We have been coming here for 9yrs and the update to the park contrary to many others is really good.

The level of stupidity of this park is beyond crazy. They used chicken wire fencing to protect some plants right on the middle of an off-leash dog park. Dogs run. They don’t care about nice plants. Dogs keep running in to the fence as it’s really thin. I already sent a complaint to the council last time my dog gut hurt:

We bring our dog here every weekend and it's awesome! MASSIVE flat land with pools of water here and there and a nice walk to the actual ocean if you and your pup are so inclined. There is always a lot of other dogs here but everyone is friendly and mostly keeps to themselves. Would recommend for sure. There are bins and taps and doggy bags at the entrance to the beach too.
