Liverpool Road Retarding Basin
It’s best place for a walk with your dog . Off leash park but problem is that there is no public toilet or a water fountain. Wish it had a picnic area and BBQ places and people and families can stay more at this beautiful place .

Beautiful walks around the lakes, plenty of room for dogs to run around, play, swim and socialise. Great meeting place. The only downside is the boggy area once you cross the bridge when it has been raining. There is a path going the long way round to the right that avoids this, but most of the dogs want to run through the middle,in the mud.

Lovely off lead dog park, with dam for swimming. Fencing not dog proof in some areas so bring a lead. Lots of birds. No rubbish bins or toilets though, be warned.

It’s a great place to walk your dog and walk by yourselves as well. There is a lake in between and great sunsets and sunrise views from here.

Such a beautiful park. Not a long walk, but really lovely, and a great place to let your pooch off leash. No bins, so be prepared to carry your poop around with you. Not securely fenced, but still felt quite safe, as the roads by the outer paths seem to be not so busy.

Great spot to take the dog for a run, off lead walk, swim, game of ball and play with some new friends. Nice path around the water for a walk and large grass area for them to run and play. Nice easy ramp entry into the water for them as well. Quite popular when the weather is good so parking can sometimes be difficult

Really nice spot to circle the basin and take in some of that mountain air. You're just next to the Dandenongs, and it's a beautiful area. Some of the scrubs are really thick there, and there's some signs indicating that it's a place of significance biodiversity and interest. The crush and run path ideal for most, but some wheelchair users may have difficulty in the steeper sections. I imagine it's really nice here in the Spring and Summer.There's parking, dogs are allowed and there's loads of open space to enjoy. It does mostly seem like a walking area, and not somewhere you would go for a picnic.

I've never seen so many happy pups cavorting; this place is Dog Friendly with well earned capitals. It's a lovely little park to walk around too, although isn't the largest park if you're wanting to wander for more than an hour. Parking available. Lovely lake. Worth swinging by.
