I purchased a 2014 Toyota Prado GXL new. The Radio Head Unit suffered a 'melt-down' recently, I've discovered this is a common problem as 'exchange units' are available. Toyota takes your unit and exchanges it for one they have fixed - there must be several hundred of them floating around the country, getting fixed then passed onto another user. They also come to the party, at their discretion, to help with the cost. But not in my case as they are going to charge me $1083 for the exchange. BAD Toyota!I paid for a premium Toyota product and I would have expected them to honour that purchase with premium product assist. Especially when they know of the problematic radio head unit supplied with my model Prado.People, think carefully when deciding to part with your hard earned dollars for your next new vehicle... there are plenty out there not solely relying on there reputation like Toyota that would love to have your business.
