Cradle Mountain-Lake St Clair National Park
The views and hiking experience is truly a tasmanian wilderness experience. The walks re divided by difficulty. The most difficult walk being quite the adventure to Marion's lookout which I highly recommend for those who are willing. There are bus services to certain key locations, and is overall a pleasant trip for the family or adventurous hikers.

A wonderful place to visit, the scenic views are spectacular. At the car park there are shared toilet facilities and a short walk ahead is the information centre. The rangers working were lovely and helpful with suggestions/recommendations. Inside you can fill up your water bottles and there is a little souvenir shop. Outside there is a little cafe and more toilets. Which then you will go to the shuttle bus that takes you to through various bus stops up to dove lake to begin your walks! :)(I believe the bus runs from 8:30am - 7pm) it comes very frequently as there is no car access further up.I walked the Crater Lake path up to Marion’s Lookout (which is amazing) and then back down to the dove lake circuit. Dove Lake is very accessible and most people would be able to do the walk around it.

Stunning wilderness park where each turn reveals another spectacular visitor. Some challenging hiking required and the lodges are suitable for people who don’t mind sharing with strangers, I preferred camping in a tent. Bathroom facilities are what you would expect in a wilderness camping environment (very basic). The overland track is well worth the effort. Your hard work is rewarded with spectacular views.

Definitely one of the main reasons to visit Tasmania, the breathtakingly, picturesque landscapes of the great outdoors. The variation in terrain, in conjunction with the different seasons, offer many different experiences for every avid hiker.During the fall and near winter season, you get to see a lot more fungi, mushrooms and moss littering the woodlands.Throw in a few snow days and you're really in for the full experience.Ask around for tales of the legendary ranger, Melanie"

An absolutely memorable experience like no other! Cradle Mountain is an absolute gem of Tasmania’s unique landscape and a massive tourist hotspot for good reason. An absolute must when exploring this truly beautiful island.

Cradle Mountain-Lake St Clair National Park
A very interesting and unique landscape complete with walks for people of all ages. There are many boardwalks as well as 'tracks' that vary in both length and degree of difficulty. Panoramas from elevated lookouts are fantastic, but precautions re sudden weather changes are important. A wonderfully scenic location.

Absolutly stunning. So much to see, so many tracking paths, a lot of hiking hours. Just bring the right shoes if you plan to hike the longer tracks of 5, 6,7 or more hours. Wildlife all around, the lakes are stunning, absolutely gorgeous silver trees, flower fields and more. Shadow Lake, Forgotten Lakes track and Mt. Rufus if you want more challenging tracks. The staff at the park entrance are very helpful too!

A national parks pass gets you a free ticket to enter & ride the shuttle buses. There are short walks of about an hour or longer walks of over 3hrs. Dusk or dawn if you're wanting to see a wombat.

This has to be one of the most spectacular National Parks in Australia, if not the world! We did the Crater Lake and Dove Lake walks, both of which were spectacular. Even though we were there in March there were patches of light snow, so coming prepared for that is essential.Looking forward to coming back to do the Overland Track some day now!

Cradle Mountain-Lake St Clair National Park
One of the best, if not the best, National park in Tasmania. Cradle mountain rivals any of the American national parks. The hike to Marion’s lookout was stunning and not too strenuous. If you’re up for it, continue on to the summit for breath taking views. The park is also teaming with wildlife. We saw heaps of wombats, pademelons, wallabies, and echidnas. This is a must-do if visiting Tassy.
