St David's Park
Wall of headstones from 1800's, why, was I walking on top of the origional grave yard? Due respect the memorial wall is unique. The grave stone/cripts that remain I take as being as they should be. My apologies if I have walked over anyone below. A visit was well rewarded for this history buff plus an informative pro-bono by a local gentleman (previous guide from isle of the dead) on some of the inset headstones.

Have the luxury of viewing this place from a nearby apartment. Slice of heaven. Read the stones along the path, and reflect on earlier times.

Absolute must see in Hobart! Beautiful park near Salamanca Markets that used to be a cemetery. The old grave stones have been reset into a wall of remembrance. Lovely gardens.

Good park next to Salamanca Place. Formerly Hobart's graveyard. Interesting monuments to former governors and leading citizens. Headstones of others relocated to walls around the Supreme Court. Most bodies still in ground, only about 100 relocated to new cemetery. Across the road was St Mary's hospital, now a cocktail bar.

St David's Park
A beautiful place to take a walk, have a picnic or take a break from the busy Salamanca market on a Saturday. It can get quite busy during the weekend, and sometime there is live music. Dogs are allowed in the park on lead, but not in the Salamanca market. The park itself is relatively small and has toilet facilities.

It's a park close to the CBD and local tourist precinct it's great to chill out in and rest. A quiet retreat in the city
