Canunda National Park
Fantastic coastline with awesome views & tracks to explore, Carpenter Rocks is where we stayed, great for the kids to do fishing & explore, the Rock's tavern is a must to eat at, even meals from the local general store, $5 hot chips fed our family of 5, but there's more than just that, will be back

We visited this spot around 4pm and we had the whole place to ourselves. Unfortunately we could only do the shorter walk, as we had dinner plans. But the views are very unique and there are not many tourists around!

Love coming through Canunda National Park. Has simple sandy 4wd tracks with plenty of beach access & small dune access available. Beach drives can get pretty soft so drive with caution with some area narrowing close to waves. Have proper recovery, a second vehicle & radio to call for help. Had to recover 2 bogged vehicles that were stuck over 2 hours until we happen to hear the call for help on the radio.

5/8/2021 - What a day! We saw an echidna, a seal, a wombat, and a few wallabies. We didn't realise how soft the sand was on the beach, sunk the ute straight away, we put the tyres down to 5psi and got going easy enough... stuck to the main track after that. We did some fishing at number two rocks, followed a little off road track onto the rocks and caught a few reef fish. The only downside to Canunda National Park is that most of the beach access points are just littered with rubbish, people need to remember to take their rubbish with them when they leave.

Beautiful beach and sheltered from the rough offshore sea. Car entry to the beach is possible near Cape Banks lighthouse. Check your car and make sure it has a 4x4 Drive range. Not much help is around as it's a remote beach.

Great place to go 4wd for the first time. Just don't go on the beach (parts of it) without experience 4wd ppl.

There is tarred road to Cape Buffon and reasonable dirt road to Betrice Gully (gmaps)/ Boozy Gully (parks map) car park, from Southend. Both offer short and longer walks, small beaches divided by dune sandstone and limestone heads. We haven't seen the park further south, that is for the next visit.
